Why not this as the logo? Maybe get a new jersey specifically for the gold medal game. Although it probably wouldn't work in Sweden's favor. Might just piss Canada off enough for them to win.

In 5 on 5 situations, Franzen isn't really a Cleary or Holmstrom kind of guy; he's more of a shooter. And he should be because he probably has the best shot on the team right now.

Me too. With the way the Red Wings play I think it's good to have two players who can pass the puck well on the top two scoring lines. Franzen is barely average in that area and he admits it. Bert and Flip can have it on a string. Bertuzzi likes to be down low, Franzen likes to be in shooting position and Flip can do his thing around the perimeter.

I hope Leino does go for an unusual number. I suppose all the "common" numbers are taken, if not retired. Except for 20. That number has commitment issues like no other. It's quite literally worn out from having so many different people inside it. The next one to wear that number shall be the last. That article said that the Wings don't have a problem with high numbers, which implies that some organizations do have problems with high numbers. Why?

Lines will change a lot during the season. I just hope Babs follows one particular trend: Filppula and Cleary in the top-six.

Kenny actually sounds pretty excited about the roster. Maybe not as excited as last year, but last year was a Halley's comet kind of off-season.

It looks like they just went by salary. Although Leino will get more money than Helm this year, Helm has a better reputation and he's Canadian. They're TSN. How can they resist?

Are you kidding? Echolalia only played 60 games due to a knee injury. If you adjusted his numbers to an 82 game season he'd have a 70 point season easy; not to mention if he had the same kind of talent in his partners along the blue line that 55fan does. Plus, he can be an enforcer when they need him to be. All in all, he's should be #1.

I really like these. Bert can also pass the puck well from what I remember. Except that I think Cleary deserves to be in the top-six permanently as well as Filppula. But it's hard because to have Bert and Leino together as wingers sounds really slow. And I'm all for putting Willy on the 4th line.

Why not have Helm replace Williams and then have Eaves play the left so that Willy can play the right?
