Things that I personally liked about Leino: When they say, "the puck follows him around," I actually could see it quite vividly when Leino was on the ice. He has a real taste for scoring and points. Things that I didn't like: Just his tendency to dive if he's not getting calls. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if he has a great regular season for his standards but a crappy playoffs because he's going to experience a lot of clutching and grabbing and he won't get the calls.

I didn't mean to say either took a step backwards. I was just referring to Howard's lack of consistency. But as a real answer to your question, neither Tom or Daniel have taken any steps backwards. People mention McCollum more because he has the OHL stats, he's bigger, a first round draft pick, and North American. He just has a better flare I suppose. Me, I like Larsson, mostly because he seems like a really smart goalie. Zetterberg raved about him after last year's camp and suggested that he would take Howard's spot. Who knows? He might still be right.

It's just about consistency in prospect development that gives the fans confidence. For instance Abdelkader and Helm for the most part have always taken steps forward in their development and not many, if any at all, steps back. With guys like Jimmy and even Jakub Kindl, they always seem to take steps forward but then then sudden steps back. It doesn't mean that they're worthless. It just causes us to question their mental ability. At the same time the standard of development is different for goaltenders and defensemen. But we see guys like Abdelkader and Helm and we expect the same from everyone else.
