I like to have some wishful thinking every now and again. Even if he wanted to be in DET I don't even know where they would make room with everybody considered. They already declared that they will trade one defenseman; probably to make room for a forward. Healthy or unhealthy, I'd like for them to keep Lils along with Meech, mostly because he's a stopgap at forward and defense, which means Anton would be an 8th defenseman to start. Any chance he's willing to play in GR if he knows he'll be a Red Wing? Probably not.

Seriously, his willingness to shoot (right handed) seems like it would look great along with Kronwall's ability to pass on the power play. And at a cap hit of 615K for this year and next year he would be awesome in Lebda's place. It's too bad the Flames don't want Lebda (I'm assuming). I'd probably give up a prospect or two for him.

The depth of that team was quite something. Shanahan-Larionov-Lapointe Kozlov-Fedorov-Brown Sandstrom-Yzerman-McCarty Maltby-Draper-Kocur Definitely the best team among the four cup wins imo.

You never know in terms of #1 defensemen. From what my elders tell me, they didn't expect Lidstrom to be a #1 defenseman and look at him now. No, Kronwall doesn't show many signs of being a future #1 but he's still learning and he could have a big jump in the near future.

I watch the game much differently now and I really try to look for the subtleties that make guys like Lidstrom and Zetterberg so great. Back then it was only hits and goals and things that really stood out. That's why I feel like I was too young because I appreciate the game much differently now.

Thoughts I was too young to watch those games like I do now, but did the Flyers play defense at all? It seems like the Wings had so much room on those goals. Also, man I miss Vladdy. I really do.
