They say Emmerton is a top-six player but unless his skating has gotten better then he looks to be the next Jiri Hudler third liner.
-
Did Tallon know he was on his way out and thus decided to screw their Hawks' cap situation?
-
Averman. His character was quite the moron. Hate to go with the obvious but my favorite was Charlie.

Seriously who wouldn't want to play for Detroit? I don't mean to toot their horn necessarily but they take seemingly everybody, whether you're an all-star or a castoff in his mid twenties looking for a second chance or an aged veteran of 15 years desperate for a cup. It's not like they only take hot shot franchise players. They appeal to everybody not just because they win but because they have an appreciation for the wide variety of roles that contribute to winning.

He looks like a less scary version of Ovy.

Don't really think there's much to point and laugh at for Wings fans. The Hawks will be fine. Looks like we'll have to find some other organization to make us feel better.
-
Both I think. Unless they trade for Brad Richards or someone and he really asks for it, I think they'd like to hold it.

Stevie and Nick have the stats to back it up. Not to mention the individual trophies. I don't think Pav and Z will have the stats, which already puts them at a disadvantage. However, if they simply go on the standard of "How much did this player mean to the organization during their Stanley Cup wins?" then they still have an outside chance. First of all, both have to be a part of at least two more cup wins and either one of them will have to be the MVP. That's very, very hard to do. But if that were to happen along with more lady byngs and one or two more selke's for Pav, maybe even a Hart, along with correcting the abomination that Zetterberg does not have a selke yet, then yes, they still have an outside chance, but a lot has to go right in order for that happen. At this point, they were drafted by the organization, they grew up within the organization. I think it's safe to say that after they are done playing that the organization will at least hold out their numbers the way they do for some others including surprisingly, as of this day, Sergei Fedorov.

If we're going to sign a former Pen, can't we go after Janne Pesonen instead? With Fedotenko resigning there is no way Pesonen will get consistent minutes in PIT and at this point is likely to become a UFA.

The Best Player in the World. Sidney Crosby says that his own talent and toughness is nothing compared to Kopecky.

Cheli? He's had his time but he might find his way back here in some other role. Hossa? We don't need anymore reasons to feel disappointed during the playoffs. Conks? I voted for him. I figured I had to pick one. Solid guy and player. Sammy? Very serviceable two-way forward. He shot right-handed and that's what made him stick out. Huds? Some see a scorer with a great smile. I see a guy who simply can't keep up. Even before the contract. Kopy? He still doesn't have one vote. You'd think he'd have more as a power forward. Mac? Not going to miss him because I think he'll be a part of the organization some other way.

Tough standard. If I had to guess, I'd say that Zetterberg and Datsyuk probably won't even get their numbers retired as Red Wings. I know it sounds crazy, but that's just how insanely tough it is.

Some idiots will boo. But I'd like to think even more people at the Joe will shut them up and send them to Pittsburgh where they can be happy morons with the rest of the Crosby gremlins.

NHL asks IIHF, KHL to negate Hudler's KHL Contract
titanium2 replied to Frozen-Man's topic in General
My hope is that Kenny is as humanely possible proceeding as if Hudler is gone. 5 mil tax free. Closer to home. Top-3 ice time. No way in hell Huds would get top-3 ice time in Detroit. He'll get top-6 shifts every now and again but then proceed the next 18 and a half games on the 3rd line. If I were him and had this deal in front of me the last thing I'd be worried about would be the opinions of some couch potato fans and the first thing I'd be worried about would be how to get Simona that diamond engagement ring she's wanted. -
Who will man the right point on the second PP unit

You see what you've done? You've given mindfly the satisfaction of being right. -
This thread definitely put me into a state of denial. It's always tough to lose players the Wings have had for a long time. As far as "irreplaceable" goes, Homer is closer to it than most; definitely not in the same way as Lidstrom, but still tough to replace nonetheless.
-
More like let's find every excuse to not invest faith or hope because if we do that and then end up on the losing end, well, that's just scary and too much to handle.

Good work. Actually though, I think the answer is painfully obvious as to who we'll vote for. It's Ericsson. The whole 100 mph thing and the fact that he's just the shinier option because we've heard so much hype about him means that Stuart will take a backseat in our minds. -

This thread should have a poll. -
Why didn't Brendan Smith make it last year?
-
No no no... Not ironic. Ironical. Haha. And the Jesus one would probably suit him better seeing as how I'm guessing he probably uses Christianity to hate others.

He wasn't a full blown moron until the last part of his post. In a 7 game series that went all the way down to the wire in which one team had their top defenseman in recovery from testicular surgery, #2 defenseman with a ruptured disk in his back and a separated shoulder, #5 defenseman in recovery from appendicitis surgery, 2nd best PK defenseman out with a serious concussion, best offensive forward with a severely fractured foot and an even more serious charley horse, and 2nd best net front presence with a double groin tear, then, yeah, their opponent got luckier than most. Every team has their normal list of injuries, sore this, sore that, but appendicitis? ********? That's some of the worst luck I've ever seen.

In order for some people to enjoy it, they have to complain. They will do that to the max until they find out they have a cancerous tumor.

Pav: "Tried to be... more physical ozone..." SJ: "ENGLISH motherf***er, DO YOU SPEAK IT?!!"
