You know I wasn't really serious. She mentioned she planned to move to Tampa and hoped that if Hudler goes anywhere she hoped it was Tampa and these days, when I think of the Lightning I think of Hedman. (Sorry Vinny and Marty).
-
Keith is more than welcome here in a few years.
-
If he does somehow find his way to Tampa, any chance you could somehow meet him and convince him to convince their management to trade Hedman to the Wings for say... Some role player and a first round draft pick?
-
I like this but I don't see how Huds accepts anything below 3 million and I rather the Wings not trade Lilja, the former soccer goalie who loves to place his body in front of 90 mph shots. Either way... Pav-Z-Mule Leino-Fil-Cleary Whoever-Helm-Homer Whoever-Drapes-Malts Nick-Rafi Kronner-Stewie Jonny-Whoever Whoever Ozzie Hungry Howie Call me crazy, but I'm actually pretty happy with that roster to start the season.

http://redwingscorner.blogspot.com/2009/07...-cap-dance.html So the Wings have 1.683 of cap space left. That includes the contracts of Andreas Lilja as if here were not on LTIR, Darren Helm, Jimmy Howard, Justin Abdelkader, Derek Meech, Jonathan Ericsson and the newly signed Conan O'Brien or Ville Leino or whatever we're calling him today. In terms of Abdelkader, the Wings' preference is that he plays 20 minutes a night in GR developing his scoring touch so that he'll have more versatility as a third line player when he becomes a full time Red Wing. So let's say we don't count his contract (.850). That allows for a cap space of 2.533 Helm has to be on the roster next season. I mean, come on. I'm counting his. Hungry Howie is supposed to back up Ozzie as of now. Never know what can happen in training camp but I'm still going to count his. Meech, Lebs and Lils: A defenseman will be traded and it seems very likely that it will be one of these three. In addition to Abby in GR, if it's Meech, 3.016; if Lebda, 3.183; if Lils, 3.783. In summary: -They'd prefer that Abby play one more year in GR -They plan to trade one (?) defenseman. -They plan to resign a bottom six forward. -They expect Hudler to get 3-4 million. That's the situation. If Hudler receives 3-4 million I actually don't see how he stays a Red Wing.

I think it's Kopy that has the affair with Hossa. Chicago management apparently gave Kopy three minutes to decide whether or not he wanted to sign and he obviously did it.

How does that translate exactly? According to google, it's "Filppula does paint." That's just gross. How do you "do" paint? Call up slutty eggshell white for some practice before you go home to naval orange?

Penguins want Wild's Mikko Koivu and Cal Clutterbuck for Evgeni Ma

Eh, rumor... stupidity of other team's fans... why split hairs? There is no way the Pens will trade Malkin. He was their MVP last year. -
Thanks! I'm posting that every time Filppula or Leino score / make a nice play in next year's GDT threads. Vittu joo!

How do you say that in Finnish?
-
Pyett at best will be a reserve defenseman with maybe some time on the power play because he's right handed, depending on how many right handers the Wings have when his contract runs out of minor league options. I don't expect much from him. Max will be at BU next year I believe. Good spot for him. Plus I'm sure BU will play against Maine and Max will see Gustav Nyquist, another Wings prospect.
-
Mahtava! I don't speak Finnish. I'm just throwing that out there hoping I did it right.

Kronwall-Ericsson - I absolutely loved this pairing last season. Then again, Kronwall fits with pretty much anyone. Smith... I don't understand the hype on this kid. I need to see that he can play a full season. Other than that it seems as if Kronwall's spot as the #2 power play quarterback will go to either him or Kindl in a couple years. They compare Lashoff to Kyle Quincey but I think Lashoff's puck skills are better. I hope he becomes a guy good enough to fill a Lilja type role or fixture at the #5 dman spot. Nicastro in 4-5 years doesn't seem all that possible. He's got at least three years in college and one or two in GR. But I've said before that I have high hopes for this kid.

The NHLPA site is my official clarification and it still says unsigned. But it's only a matter of time before that updates. Just how much? is the question. http://www.nhlpa.com/WebStats/PlayerBiography.asp?ID=31358

Ha! No beer. I wasn't old enough to drink for... actually all of them. 99 was the worst for me though and I don't know why. It should've been 96. Hmm... What did I do? I don't know about kicked furniture but I definitely punched some doors and walls. I threw stuff and oh, now I remember that something I threw actually knocked a picture of Jesus off the wall. Yeah I'm going to hell.
-
That's what really concerns me. Can you teach hockey sense? I don't think so.
-
Hell yeah. That along with Colorado in 96 and again in 99. If I had to rank them according to dramatic hissy fits I threw then it would actually go Colorado 99, Colorado 96 and then Anaheim 07.
-
If you're the Wings and you've been in seemingly every possible scenario in the playoffs, that whole "we've been there before" attitude, motivation tends to stay at a steady rate so that you don't get too high or too low.
-
Don't know if this helps. But it's for everybody. http://www.detnews.com/article/20090706/SP...o-for-two-years It's safe to think of rosters that don't include Abby. If they could, they'd rather have him play another year in GR. Plus, Kenny already said that he plans to trade one defenseman. There's a whole lot of factors going into how much cap space the Wings have.

I'm going with the ESPN article. It was posted a little over an hour ago.

No one left on the free agent crop really wows me
titanium2 replied to stevkrause's topic in General
There's nothing wrong with questioning a GM. Holland does make mistakes. There are many on here who still wish we had Matthias. However, the poster you're responding to is just bored. Kenny resigned Zetterberg and Franzen for much less than market value this year. He resigned Ville Leino to a contract that many of us thought wasn't possible. The poster is just bored because they haven't signed any new blood. -
Yeah I should've said no complaints. I'm ecstatic they got this deal. I just wonder how they did it. Apparently by letter of the law he was supposed to get a raise. Where is crossed arms guy when you need him?

They did their part and they played hard and in the end deserved to win. It's just that sometimes I wonder where the Pens rank in terms of championship luck. Perhaps the 2004 Marlins? -
RedWingsCentral.com isn't working for me right now but if you go to their site they have an excellent scouting report on him. While he's probably their top d-man prospect right now, he still has some struggles that are red flags if you're a Wings fan. For one, he still struggles with NA forechecking systems and turns the puck over too much. Two, without a doubt he has all the tools, but a questionable 'brain' or hockey sense, which is concerning because I'd say the Wings value hockey sense near the top. You can teach certain things but hockey sense isn't one of them. As of today, he's still very much a work in progress on the defensive end.

QUESTION I thought he was supposed to get a raise under the new CBA. According to LGW he got 875k last year and now on average he will receive 800k a year. Was the 875 supposed to cover a buyout from his team Jokerit or something?
