Wow. Good for you. One of the more longshot ones. -

Actually me too, but props to you for being the first to drop his name. You can officially call him "your prospect." I think we still have 10 people fighting over the right to call Ritola their prospect. From what I remember, some weeks he looks like a future power forward, other weeks he looks like a third line center. Last year he quadrupled his point totals but apparently that wasn't enough to get him within the top 20. Baby Matthias is one of his nicknames. Pretty good outlook. -
I used to know the answer to that question. Well not that question but the original philosophical tree question. I forgot it probably because it was a lame answer.

What would your lines look like?

I have pretty high hopes for Nicastro. -
To be fair, that was during a power play.

Kopy falls on ass, gets cut somehow, blood drops from wherever. Next shift, Hossa gets tripped, face falls on Kopy's blood. Next morning Hossa wakes up severely ill. It's like the beginning of a House episode.

Must... stop... myself... from making... reference to... Dr... Rahmani... Mine eyes... GAH!!!

But I gots to have a dude that will play with an illegal curve and then get caught and then break it and try to cleverly cover it up.

I was just about to dish out a comparison to Ericsson or perhaps Kindl, who has more offensive upside but probably won't be better than Chalmerson defensively.

You're right. The first thing that scouts mentioned about him is that he loves to come to the rink and practice and put his equipment on and all those little intangibles that distinguish the good from the great. The only thing that I think he'll have a hard time improving/changing is his willingness to dive when he's not getting the calls. He's not shy about it at all and he's done it for the longest time even going back to even before he used to play in SM-liiga apparently.

It's tough. You're debating with Wings fans who have always had a supreme top-2 on the back end along with depth guys who could be top pairing dmen on mediocre teams. And so, when we think about CHI defense, of course we see Keith and Seabrook (some of us secretely hope to steal away Keith even though we know it won't happen), but beyond those two of course we're going to have a hard time feeling the least bit threatened by the bottom four.

The cluck gives him painful memories of some reptile bite he suffered when he was younger.

He said that he's been working on his skating for two or three straight summers now, more specifically this past summer with Fil and Janne Hänninen, a three time Olympian speed skater. Little things such as lowering body position, which should improve balance and allow him to use more of the strength in his legs. I'm hoping for a new free agent. Someone who the Wings can really get real some value out of and make other teams along us Wings fans think, "Who the hell is that guy and where has he been hiding all this time?"
-
Pronger. Mostly because he's just a terrible excuse for a human being no matter what jersey he's wearing.
-
IMO, Getzlaf absolutely has to be in top-6 if not top-3.
-
Wings have been a powerhouse since 1994 imo.
-
For some reason I think it might be Kronwall.

If he didn't get that clot or whatever in his brain then he might have had more points than Z which would have strengthened his case. But even then I have to disagree. Along with the fact that he led all forwards in ice time and the whole team in points, this single event pushed him further beyond anybody.
-
Meh... He only did that once iirc. Granted, all the goals left a "What the f*** just happened?" effect on the whole team.

Sometimes I really question the age of posters like that. The scary thing is, in their case, they're actually among the older adults on this forum. I'm honestly scared that I'm going to be that stupid and stubborn when I'm their age.

Their plan involves a goalie they've developed for 5 years now I think. If he doesn't pan out, they got Larsson in the minors who was the best goalie in the Swedish Elite League in his last year and had a very good first year in the minors. If he doesn't pan out, they got McCollum, who is considered by some to be a franchise goalie in the making (well, by Red Wings standards). And if that doesn't work, they'll just have to trade someone for a goalie. They got it covered fairly decently. They're probably more worried about the day Lidstrom retires.
