True, but my comment was intended for whenever they play against the Wings. If I were Dan Bylsma I don't know how I would overcome the temptation to send out a player to lunge straight for Pronger's ACL.
-
HAHAHA... Oh man... I'm sorry I missed that. They're just trying to tout the team that has Kane and Toews and now Hossa. It's all shallow publicity.
-
Oh my God... You'd think it wasn't possible to hate the Flyers even more but now they have Pronger and now one of the few guys that has directly injured Nick Lidstrom?
-
Is that after they trade Lebda/Lilja?

How is Washington supposed to get to the finals?

Hmm... In terms of percentages, I'd say 20% are kicking and screaming, 55% wish him luck and 25% are actually kind of happy he left. I'm actually a little happy he left. What makes the team so great above all else is how well they fit in with one another. He just didn't fit in with Datsyuk or Zetterberg, who are like a carbon atom, they fit with many. Same goes with your boy Malkin. It was frustrating to watch.

He's Eric Staal's favorite linemate. You'd have to pry him away from the best of the Staal brothers.

Boyd in 2002 played with energy. Kopecky really milked the bad knee excuse.

Might as well sticky a locked thread with that title. He is pretty expensive for a Red Wings rookie.

Three players gone... what's next for Wings?

Sure. It's just obvious that no team was willing to trade away a pick because it was fairly clear that Hossa was not going to re-sign with Detroit. It was so clear that they could risk not being the first in line. -

I don't remember Duchesne leaving. I thought the Wings chose not to offer him a contract. -
I'd love Pahlsson as well. Him and Helm on the third line is deadly. Plus, if they could get him long enough to mentor Joakim Andersson, who many have said is a Pahlsson in the making, that would be quite something.

Did he play with Abby at MSU?

But Kopy likes to play phys.... Oh... You...

I agree. I'm saying that the Wings probably couldn't find another team to trade with because other teams knew their cap situation and figured that they wouldn't be able to sign Hossa anyways. If you know that then why sacrifice a pick? Just wait until free agency starts. -
Hey come on his face doesn't look like a.... Oh I see what you did there you...

It's amazing how excited Wings fans were after Hossa signed here and then how disappointed they were in the end because he didn't perform when it really mattered to us.
-
Not really. An athlete is an athlete. A human being is a human being. There may be exceptions to the rules but they're called exceptions because they are rare.
-
At the end of the day, all that nice feel good press about Hossa wanting to stay really ends on one lesson: When deeds speak, words are nothing.
-
Good for you. But not everyone feels that way, especially not professional athletes who experience a first hand a culture that associates happiness with material possessions.

Why would you trade a draft pick for his rights when the general feel is that he's going to turn down the Wings offer? -

That's kind of the reality of free agency. If you don't like it then how do you watch sports in general? -
More time for Fil in the top-6. He may not score as many goals, but he has to get used to top-6 minutes at some point.
