Holland "Not Optimistic" about re-signing Hossa
titanium2 replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Hey hey now. This isn't just money for himself but for his family. Wealth is no joke. The more money he can leave to his descendants the better. In all seriousness though, Kenny really said he's "not optimistic." That's not really the same as "doubtful," at least not imo. From Kenny's end, he's offering a cap number that's ridiculous for Hossa's standards. However, we have yet to hear or see what Hossa himself wants to do. -
Holland "Not Optimistic" about re-signing Hossa

He's not going anywhere in which he can get the same intangibles he got in Detroit. -
Exactly. My thinking is that there is no other organization out there that can provide the intangibles that make the Red Wings a great organization.
-
I think his attitude problems are overblown. He's no angel but it's not like he's a primadonna in the locker room.
-
A common trend with "enforcers" is that their hands are made of stone, which is not a good thing if you want to be on the Red Wings these days. However, it seems as if the kid has good enough skill and hockey sense that he could perhaps provide great net front presence and get garbage goals.
-
Where else can Hossa go? What are his options in terms of best situation to win and get fair compensation?
-
A line of Cleary-Helm-Ferraro sounds intriguing.
-
I don't think Kopy had much of a choice. Wings have no cap space.
-
Is he going to play another year in the WHL or can he play in GR next year or what?
-
He looks old for his age.
-
You know what I meant. Players that reach the cusp of being regulars but for whatever reason just don't make it in a Wings jersey.
-
I partially disagree. For the regular season Pronger won't have as much of an influence as you might think. If the Flyers can get to the playoffs however, that's when the real neanderthal comes out.
-
Oh that's not what you meant. Still. How could not be a fan? Fake or real.
-
Which ones shoot right-handed?
-
Only when his son has the puck. When those soft euros have it then he's back to bashing them. "Zetterberg should've passed the puck to my son there. I know he was covered but still he has a better shot from the circle."

The excitement and hope over this dude is insane. Hope he doesn't become the next Ellis or MacDonald.
-
Yeah, again, maybe you should sleep all day tomorrow on account of massive sperm loss.
-
Future line of Zata and Tata.
-
Not just that. He's got enough skill to play on the team. He's almost perfect for a fighter draft pick. Future Grind Line of Julien Cayer-Some Center-Mitchell Callahan!!!
-
I thought they drafted two fighters. Or at least one fighter and one guy with a taste for fighting. I suggest you sleep all day tomorrow.
-
Is this the pick we are most excited about?
-
Question... Generally speaking, are we Wings fans usually upset with their picks that turn out to be Franzen and Filppula? I'm just trying to gauge on whether or not this excitement is fool's gold.

Wings Trade thier first round pick to Tampa

I was having a discussion with someone about that the other day. Is Zetterberg a franchise player? I say without a doubt. He came over here with a lot of hype and lived up to it. Runner up for Rookie of the Year just like Yzerman and Lidstrom. In terms of determination, he's the go-to guy. He's not "franchise" in the same regard as whiny face or Toews but he's still that type of player you can build around.
