    Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania...

Definitely. Many of my friends from Pittsburgh say that the sports teams is all they have. I think Boston was the closest if you count the Patriots as Boston. Detroit has been pretty close too.

SCF GAME 7 GDT: Penguins 2 at Red Wings 1

I hope Leino takes Hudler's role. He's stronger on the puck and he holds onto it better. Probably not quite as good a passer but what good are great passing skills if you suck at battling for the puck in the first place.

    How epic would this be

Why? They were the most determined team in the whole playoffs. It's not really a silver lining but worse things have happened.

    How epic would this be

I don't think so. The Olympics are next year and the Wings are bound to be the team that sends the most players. You know that Pav and Z will give everything they got for that gold medal. They shouldn't have anything left after that.

I guess Hossa's represenative is gone. It's too bad.

Crosby didn't shake our players hands?

The rational thing would be to put someone on ignore if day after day they spew the same emotion. Everyone is upset after tonight. We all want to blame or lash out at someone else. It'll pass.

He's blind in the sense that he's just stubborn to face the fact that Hossa isn't as good as he thinks he is. The truth hurts sometimes. Deal with it.

It's true that a player's contributions go beyond points. But Hossa was expected to rack them up by not only the fans but his teammates as well. And he failed. Move on. Your intelligence should allow you to see that.

Ok so he's a regular season player. He can play 82 games and carry a team through a regular season but when the playoffs come and the intensity rises then he gets injured or for whatever reason just shouldn't be relied on to make a huge difference. Regardless of the two or three good playoff runs he's been a part of and until he shows otherwise, that's his career. I don't believe in pointing to injuries. You get paid to keep your body healthy with proper diet and conditioning even if you play an intense contact sport. Why is it that Lidstrom was able to stay so durable during his 10 million dollar contract seasons? No one gives you respect, you have to earn it one way or another.

So he had a good first couple of playoffs and was able to produce next to one of the greatest talents in the world. Well why is it that he's a superstar on teams that have so little playoff success? They expect him to step up and what happens? He himself admits that he doesn't like being that guy. He gets paid like a first liner who really deserves to play on the second line.

I wouldn't count on it. Two, maybe three successful years in the playoffs doesn't mean much in comparison to the others.

It's hard to point to injuries when after we've seen Stevie play as well as Nick's endurance.

So two years in comparison to how many he's been in the league for?

What You'll Remember Most From This Season?

I'd actually like to forget as much as possible. This year was one big tease when you think about it.

Crosby didn't shake our players hands?

More like it's fine that he has to shake hands with more individuals with that face of the league status.

    Is it Safe to Say?.......

Unless one of them cross checks someone from behind and re-arrange his face then I don't think so. The Ducks are a rival because of their polar opposite style to the Wings.

Penguins will dismantle due to cap space

I have a feeling that you will break out of this streak of dumb threads.
  18. I feel like Pav should be a permanent fixture on Z's wing. Pav needs to feed off of his determination guy. He certainly didn't get any spark from Hossa.

Evgeni Malkin wins the Conn Smythe

Right, it's not exactly the same, but the "he didn't deserve it" attitude comes from the same place. He doesn't care who wins the Conn Smythe he's just pissed the Wings lost.

Crosby didn't shake our players hands?

You mean you're not going to cling to ever morsel of lashing out on others? You're a freak!

For better or for worse, you have the freedom to say stupid things and others have the freedom to call them out on it.

Words of Comfort from a Thrashers fan.

Hmm. It's not really the same. The Wings had a strong history before the Dead Wings and whether or not people want to admit it, the new rules favored their style of play.

I don't believe in that. Finding someone who is in worse shape just to make yourself feel better. You're only avoiding the real problem.
