Game 6 was not as close as the score indicated. The Wings dominated the 3rd period defensively as the Pens only got one shot on goal in a little over 18 minutes of play. I'm not exactly sure on this but they needed a cheap call in order to get their next shot on the PP. Speaking of which, the refs blatantly ignored Malone's penalty on Lilja (that, hockey fans, is interference unlike whatever Dupuis was complaining about). Then after that they somehow refused to call the obvious trip on Datsyuk. My main point is that if you want to talk about lucky breaks then you cannot ignore those.

He's definitely our homegrown superstar. He came from Sweden with a lot of hype imo and has lived up to it since his rookie year.

I wish. But seriously, whenever he talks, I feel like a sponge. If you know how to look for it then you'd see that he has a ton of wisdom. He was an education major in college but with the way he talks now it's as if philosophy is more his thing.

Ozzie has been real key for those two wins. The Wings will get their day off and re-energize for Game 3. With less turnovers and a solid Ozzie in net, look out.

I'll be so happy if someone somewhere got an octopus on the Pens' ice. They'll get kicked out but just do what that one guy did last year where he changed clothes then came back in.

In looking forward to game 3, I think the Wings learned their lesson from last year's; whatever the reason was as to why they lost. They'll be fresher and maybe Pav will bring his 17 goals.

I guess it's easier to be cool, calm and rational when your team is winning.

There have been momentum shifts in each game. 10 minutes where PIT controlled the play and then 10 minutes where DET controlled the play. In that sense it's just not fair to say one team significantly outplayed the other.

I like how Babs said that the Wings haven't played the way they're capable of playing because of the jammed pack schedule. They got a day off tomorrow to get their legs back and hopefully they'll go into game 3 fresh.

Tough problem, but a nice problem to have. It's almost as if you really have to go by the what have you done for me lately? rule. Whoever is on the hottest streak will have the tiebreaker in terms of being signed.

You know that's going to a Pen regardless. Ozzie's been great. He did look a little lucky from time to time but luck favors the prepared.

It's hard to understand where this combativeness comes from. Is it just because they sucked for so long, got some great draft picks and think their team is the best thing in the world?

Kill Zetterberg? ... What??? That can't possibly be good juju for them. Isn't Zetterberg one of the most respected and likable players in the league? At least from a teammates perspective.

Seriously. Every team does it. It's just like "cheating on faceoffs." Every team does it. If they were to look hard enough they'd find that those angelic Pens of theirs do it too.
