Yes. Other people can have their close games if that's what they find entertaining. I like winning.

Nu-uh... Sam is one of the biggest unsung heroes in literature. He may not have been as important as Frodo but he's awfully close.

When Q put out Sharp-Toews-Kane together Babs took Homer off the ice in favor of Cleary. He did that for a reason. I guess it depends on the matchup.

Can't let up. This is a blackhawks team that is notorious for its comebacks. Keep the feet on the gas.

    Blackhawks' Brian Campbell: "Gutless"

It's all politics. It's all lobbying for the better half of the whistle.

    Blackhawks' Brian Campbell: "Gutless"

http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/2009/05/ev...wall_nikla.html "It's a head shot ... Or it's just an illegal hit all around. Hit with your shoulder, that's how you're supposed to hit, and finish guys. We've talked about it as a league and as players. I'm on the competition committee so we've talked about it. We did a league-wide vote, the players want it stopped; they want the fines and suspensions to be there. I don't know what the percentage was, at least 70 percent of players that wanted it addressed with a stiffer penalty. But it keeps happening." What the hell hit was he watching? Kronwall did hit with his shoulder. Oh and also... "He's got the rep for it ... I know as players, we want to see head shots taken away from the game. We've talked about it. It needs to be addressed. I have no problem if he comes in and uses his shoulder and hits; there's nothing wrong with that. But he didn't do that. He came into a guy that did not have the puck, was exposed, jumped, forearms, exploded through his head. That isn't part of the game. Nobody wants that to be part of the game. And he keeps doing it. Somehow, some way, it's got to stop." That's not how I saw it. Is he right?

What Should Babcock Do With Hossa?

Perfect fit in the locker room. Barely above average fit on the ice. Not quite sure why that is or how that process unfolds.

    Kronwall Hit

Was it a dirty hit? The only valid argument I can think of from the Hawks perspective is that Kronwall got him in the chest but he also got him in the head a little as well, thus making it a dirty hit. All shots to the head are dirty, regardless of whether they were unintentional. When you look at it again, perhaps Kronwall could have hit him in the left shoulder instead of the chest-head area. Basically, Kronwall could have avoided the head area. Not saying I agree. I'm just playing devil's advocate. But the Hawks reactions to the hit are rather interesting: "I think it's pretty gutless to step up like that. For a guy like that going after Marty, that's something we don't like. You have to stay disciplined, but when we get the chance we're going to finish our licks on them." "We felt it was kind of a dirty hit, so that means we're going to start giving it to their star players and making it tough for them to play as well. It's one of those things where Marty's in a vulnerable situation - head down, kind of blindsided a little bit. Those kind of hits are tough. It's almost like a hit from behind - in the same category as that." If they want to talk about dirty hits then how about their teammate Ben Eager? That guy is ridiculous with shots to the head.

    A for Effort

I didn't know Mike Modano frequented Red Wings boards.

    Kronwall Hit

Was that really a hit to the head? Looks to me as if Kronwall got him in the chest more than anything.

WCF GAME 3 GDT: Red Wings 3 at Blackhawks 4 (OT)

Who cares? The Wings know that it's all just one game. They won't panic and they'll continue to be patient.

    Kronwall Hit

So which call was worse? Watson's quick whistle or O'Halloran's game misconduct?

    Filppula-Datsyuk-Holmstrom Franzen-Zetterberg-Cleary Hudler-Helm-Hossa Maltby-Draper-Samuelsson I don't care what the salaries are.

WCF GAME 3 GDT: Red Wings 3 at Blackhawks 4 (OT)

Tough loss. Again though, it's just one game. They should have their normal lineup back for Game 4.
