I agree with you. It's just that the way the goalie fell when the puck went it can surely make it difficult to make a split second decision if the ref isn't watching that particular area. Luckily, he was.

Well not only Swedish players but guys like Lidstrom and Zetterberg who are known for their work ethic both on and off the ice. He wouldn't survive or simply be a Red Wing in the first place if he didn't have the potential to give an honest effort. It seems like they really want a forward that can contribute now. Pascal Dupuis is somebody they really like. So, really, they want an all around player, which Hudler is not. If so, then they might as for Helm/Abdelkader at the minimum. Or maybe Drew Miller. Either way it doesn't look all that likely. One thing that sucks about losing Hudler is that to me he is almost as good as I've seen in terms of a player being able to run a power play from the half wall. Maybe not be much considering how he's performed this year but it's just something to bear in mind I guess.

Me too. Probably has something to do with this. Might just be the usual for any skilled player who is a healthy scratch. Isn't playing hard enough. Isn't giving any effort defensively. Etc. Probably won't look good to Kenny.

If Nick wants to stay, it's because his abilities allow him to be the best defenseman on the team. Therefore, you absolutely cannot pay him less than Rafalski. It just isn't right.

But, you know, I'm in an hockey idea entertaining mood today. Do you or anyone know what Atlanta's looking for? Perhaps dmen? Cause at this point Kindl is very expendable as Brendan Smith appears to be on the same track as Helm and Abdelkader. As in, he'll probably be in the minors for two years, if that. If a trade were to happen between ATL and DET that involved Bergfors and Hudler, I don't see it happening as simply those two in exchange for each other. I see other pieces in play. Like Hudler and Kindl for Bergfors and a 3rd/4th rounder or something.

Sigh... Yeah... Unfortunately... But that probably has more to do with American culture instead of how well sports teams perform city by city.
