AHH! That might be more rare than waffleboarded. That would merit a death by alcohol poisoning.
-
Well, you know, whatever floats his boat I guess.
-
Anyone ever played the Doc Emerick drinking game? "DRIVE!!!" - 1 drink "Knifed" - 2 drinks "Flexed" - 3 drinks "Reversed" - 4 drinks "Waffleboarded" - Blackout
-
I agree and yet they're only up 1.
-
Are the Canes really this good?
-
I don't understand that actually. Usually you only boo a certain player if they're just an ass, like Pronger. Ovechkin is just like... a child or something. You don't boo a child.
-
Not cool Ovie. That just wasn't cool.
-
Brooks Orpik looks like a psycho.

Now that I think about it, Cleary played center for a couple of shifts. If you don't think that the center position is more than faceoffs then I'm just not too sure about Hudler down the middle. The defense will probably turn out like... Lidstrom-Ericsson Kronwall-Stuart Lebda-Rotation of Ericsson/Stuart/Ericsson/Stuart/Chelios

Maybe another force that goes against Leino's favor is that he's up for contract renewal. They really want to keep him and if he does too well, then that wouldn't help during the negotiation process would it? But I don't know, maybe not. Kenny said he's all about winning now and worrying about next year later. Maybe Abs will take one or two bad penalties just to get it out of his system and then just play through his mistakes. He's a good kid. He doesn't want to detract from the team in any way. Sunday is his playoff baptism. I hope it's not too costly.
-
It's a tough call, imo. Leino can draw penalties with his puck skills. He's good at having the puck follow him around in the O zone. Abs on the other hand plays tougher on the puck. He's more tenacious in the defensive zone. But he takes dumb penalties and the Wings can't do that against the Ducks power play.
-
I suspect Helm will center both the 3rd and 4th lines. There's no way Babs messes with the first two.
-
Not if it's a dumb hit that motivates them to play harder. It's a fine line.
-
Both. He played center in GR. Played some wing at MSU I believe.
-
Hahaha... Not sweet.

They say "upper body" injury but we've all heard that story where Bowman declared Shanny had an upper body injury but left the practice facility on crutches. I suspect it's still his groin, which according to Babs require at least 10 days: "What I find with groins is that they’re 10 days in the day-to-day process. So let’s say 10 days." It's been 15 since his last game. Maybe it's just on the more severe side.
-
Hmm... Well, he's also very prone to take dumb penalties, Abdelkader. Let's hope he plays smart.
-
Or you could have Leino take care of the scoring production while Sammy can be the more defensive minded one. Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Holmstrom/Cleary Franzen-Filppula-Hossa Hudler-Helm-Cleary Leino/Maltby-Helm-Samuelsson
-
Does this mean that they're going to have Helm center both the 3rd and 4th lines?

I watched a replay of Mule's first goal in which he took a drop pass from Fil. I watched Fil's head and man with the way he was admiring Ericsson pass he could've gotten decked hard with an open ice hit at the blue line. Good thing he lucked out on that one.

What would a realistic picture of the Wings firing on all cylinders look like? Simple dogged and constant two-way pressure from all four lines or points from all four lines? Or both? Realistically, I'd be happy with the former.

He deserves some due. At least he didn't leave his visor on. And I think the fight that fired up the Pens did so because it was their teammate that got pummeled. I think it's a little different if it's your team that did the beating instead of receiving it.
