Well, no, not really. I was just asking a question. Just because he may not be playing with the same energy in the past doesn't necessarily mean he's playing bad.

Does he appear to be playing with a little less vigor than he showed in 06-07 and 07-08?

Hopefully they'll get back to basics and no more cutefests. If so then I'm thinking that guys like Abdelkader/Cleary and Helm/Eaves will come through with some good energy. Then someone in the top six will add an insurance goal.

Not nearly as bad but someone in the Anaheim GDT dished out the term "rice burner". Not cool. Some would say that technically, Pavel Datsyuk is somewhat Asian (Something to do with Yekaterinburg and the Ural mountains or whatever. It was kind of interesting to read.). So, yeah, all of a sudden we got some racialness going on here at LGW.

They'd probably fight more without them.

Actually the spirit behind that post at that time didn't have much regard for Lidstrom. It was more of a concern about expectations being too high on Ericsson. If someone were to come up to him and say, "Hey dude, check it out, you're doing better than Lidstrom!" then I feel like Ericsson himself would've responded similarly to the way I did. They're just not comparable situations. If we were to compare his situation to a defenseman on perhaps another team who wasn't the captain while he averaged 16 min a night with 0:55 PK time and no PP time and didn't have to defend the top scorers, then we'd be a little closer to a more valid comparison.

Plus Babs started out last season with Ericsson and Stuart as the #1 and #2 PK defensemen to give Lidstrom a break or something like that. Didn't seem to work at all. No doubt it had an influence on his psyche to start the season.

Like his Mom's cancer being a lot more manageable.

They weren't supposed to be together except for on the power play from the start of the season. Before he got injured Rafi was supposed to play with Stuart. When he came back they wanted to limit his minutes and so they put him on the "bottom" pairing. Now he and Ericsson work so well together that Babs doesn't want to mess with a good thing.

I didn't get to watch the game. What didn't you like about it?

That would be awesome. Doesn't seem likely though.
