Uh, no, just trying to be silly. And failing, apparently.

I don't think it's Fil's instincts he's referring to but rather his display of overt aggression on the defensive end. It's not something we see every game but at the same time I don't think it should be since Fil plays 16-18 minutes a night. The balls to the wall play can come from Helm and Abby since they don't play as much minutes.

I'd rather Stuart spend his TOI shutting down people though. He's a serviceable guy for the PP but not for more than a few games.

True but that turd in Pittsturd had off the charts hockey sense, incredible skating speed and strength and is to this day a crazy competitive whack job. When scouts describe Nyquist in regards to those traits they say it's "fine" or "good," far from off the charts. Nyquist is really good right now. He's got 15 points in 12 games. But I don't think he's so good or such an exception that he'll without a doubt skip his fourth year. In Uhmerrica we gots foe year degreez.
-
In regards to Nyquist, it wouldn't surprise me if he stayed for his senior year. Not because he values his degree but because it's another year where he can gain some muscle while learning to maintain the speed and effectiveness at what he does best.

I kind of like this idea to be honest.

Or how about fabulous?

Abdelkader still struggles too much at faceoffs, which are very important for a puck possession team or should be for any team for that matter. I mean, sure, this year he is 36.4% with a sample size of 22 (8 wins) but last year he still wasn't too great with a 46.5% winning percentage.

I'm a little surprised by this actually. To me, he was the only prospect in limbo who I thought was the most likely to not get a contract. Not saying he wasn't going to get one. Just that if I had to pick one from that draft class then it might be him. Landon Ferraro -- 2nd Round (32nd overall) --- Signed Tomas Tatar -- 2nd Round (60th overall) --- Signed Andrej Nestrasil -- 3rd Round (75th overall) --- Must sign by the end of this year Gleason Fournier -- 3rd Round (90th overall) --- Signed, apparently Nick Jensen -- 5th Round (120th overall) --- Must sign by the end of 2014 is it? Mitchell Callahan -- 6th Round (150th overall) --- Signed Adam Almqvist -- 7th Round (210th overall) --- Must sign by the end of 2013? Obviously they have a little time for Jensen and Almqvist. However if they had to sign those two based off of their past performance up to this date then I'm thinking it's likely they both get a contract. They are both top 3 dmen for their teams all while being pretty young. So that just leaves Nestrasil, who has 27 points in 21 games. I haven't seen him play yet this year but I'm thinking his chances of a contract are pretty good. Therefore, the whole 2009 draft class might all receive contracts. Quite a haul in 2009, huh? I'm sure a lot of other teams had similar results because I remember that year having incredible depth.

I got it. I just laughed and didn't comment. You just knew they were going to include some kind of fluid being released. I didn't see the cab fare part coming though. Pun intended.

Who made that? Is that an official third jersey or...?
-
Liking them is one thing but those jerseys are far from cheap. I hope you're rich or something. Otherwise... Really? You'd spend that kind of money on a jersey like that?
-
Made me think of John Madden for some reason. "BOOM! You got Doug Murray right here entering the zone and he's forced to his right by Tanner Glass. BOOM! You got Hamuis right here waiting for him and then BOOM! The Swede is airbound. And before I forget... Brett Favre."
-
One handed strength eh?

Major props to Stanawart!
-
Fantastic point. A fine seems no longer in question.
-
Well what specifically did you see that you didn't like? I mean, I think he had a fine game. Not a great performance. For the most part, I thought he did his job. Haha! "And everyone that looks like your mother sucks." I've actually never heard that before. Is that weird? That's creative. Anytime I have a foul mouth moment I just say f*** until it's lost it's meaning in my mind. Is Big Goal Bob disappointed in his son? Honestly, I thought he competed harder. Still lost a lot of bottles. I guess he's still a major work in progress but I thought he took a baby step towards the right direction tonight.
-
Zetterberg, battle-wise, was really good tonight, which sucks because a turnover of his led to a CBJ goal. Hopefully he just remembers what he did well. Hudler got an assist. I'm not quite sure how I feel about how he did overall, which I suppose is an improvement from the last few games where I sternly said to myself, "He sucked. No doubt in my mind."
-
Hopefully this doesn't cause unnecessary drama in the offices of the brass.

Filppula had a good game. We've seen that before. As always I hope to see it more often. It's just... It seems like a lot of the goals he scores look... How do I say... Not so much lucky but maybe... Unnatural? (Best word I can think of). And I'm not trying to say he's not a natural goal scorer. Most people already know that. His goals just seem to look so awkward. Maybe when he plays with some real confidence in the offensive zone his goals will look a little more "natural". Is it me or did Datsyuk look a little off and uncoordinated?
-
Definitely. I'm sure she got in Voracek's (I think it was) head and made him hesitate on that one scoring chance. Props.
-
Interesting. Anyone think he'll get fined?
-
Cheli are you okay? So, Cheli are you okay? Are you okay, Cheli?
-
It's not his fault he's 6'6.

Well I remember them having the same problem in 2008 too. It wasn't as severe or perhaps noticeable in 2009 but lulls like they're having right now are always part of the challenge. My hope is that they find a way to show some real mental toughness because they'll need it big time.
