Yeah I know. Why is that? Anyone?

As far as excuses for not performing last year, Ericsson had a pretty damn good one. Glad he's on his way to enjoying hockey like he used to though.

"We're the Red Wings. We're skilled, we're strong, we're experienced, we're pretty and can't possibly be beat! If any team even dreams of beating us they better wake up and apologize."
-
I have to say that I'm a little concerned about this pattern or road that the Wings are on right now. They're winning but they're also pushing their luck as they perform further and further away from a solid 60 minute game.

I really don't know if he would be a good fit here in Detroit but man oh man that Captain Hindsight is telling me Alex Tanguay's production and contract this year would sure look nice on the third line.
-
Aww shucks. Iggy's just being aggressive. We should commend him for what he did in today's games. Poor little feller.
-
Hmm... What are they supposed to do with him now? Is he just content because he got his big contract or what?

In one sense, with this team, an almost injury isn't such great news because look how Franzen has been with that hip flexor or whatever he has. He's been in games but nowhere near the effectiveness we expect of him. In another sense, as a witness of last year's head shaking injury fest, I'm just thankful if a player isn't out of the lineup worthy of LTIR.

I agree with this except for the last part. I don't want that turd anywhere near another Stanley Cup.
-
I'm thinking this one has got to be in it somewhere. Hmm...

The scorers have no eye of the tiger, man; the EDGE! And now they gotta get it back, and the way to get it back is to go back to the beginning. You know what I mean?
-
I have a bad feeling about this game. :-/

Right now the NA boys seem to working harder, which isn't the greatest news for the Wings.

Part of being a coach in the highest level of hockey (or any profession for that matter) is massaging egos. I remember Bert last year wasn't all that great to start. At least in my opinion he wasn't. But Babcock seemed to praise him every time someone in the media brought him up. Months later Babs starts to act tough on him. Bert was not allowed to play within the top six unless he was willing to play a Holmstrom like role. He praised him for his work early on but then started to demand a lot more once he got settled. Maybe that's just part of the way they have to deal with some veterans, especially a guy like Modano who some believe to be far away from being low maintenance. Not saying I agree. To the best of my perception, it is what it is.

You're both wrong. It's the massive amounts of chewing gum.

I meant fluidity within a five man unit.
-
Not saying I am for or against it, just wondering: Is it a good idea to bench Hudler?
-
I don't know if it's about line adjustments right now. They just have to find a way to play with desperation. But, I mean, as a coach, how can you help that?
-
Karen Newman won't cover all that much net but maybe she's pretty enough so that opponents won't even take shots.
-
"They work" is what Babs says to explain the success of the Modano and Helm line. It's nice to see. Hope the big guys can find a way to push a little harder.
-
Sounds great right about now.
-
Jimmy looked like he needs a brief mental recharge.
-
Great job by the 4th line to get some goals.
-
The Minnesota Wild still haven't lost in regulation I guess right?

Damn Zetterberg is a -2 so far... Waste of a text I guess. Ah well.
