Yeah he thrives off that. He likes to fancy himself as a martyr for who he thinks is underrated.

Damn man... Haha.

Good to see a win. I'm still not so sure about these lines though. Let's see how they do against one of the top tier teams in the league.

http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2010/11/red_wings_nicklas_lidstrom_che.html Datsyuk had a funny quote about the all-star game: And then a line that won't make the league brass any happy:

Good lord why the hell do guys even waste your time like this?

Hey guys, you know what's an even better commercial...?

I'm sure Eva will make a lot of money off this thread.

Question for everybody out there. Do you all remember George Malik's Snapshots blogs where he pretty much gave updates on anything and everything Red Wings related? Obviously he's at KK right now but he doesn't seem to do the same thing that he did for mlive, which sucks because Snapshots was like my homepage. Is there anything else out there like it?

So we might see Datsyuk and Zetterberg against each other should they both make it. Hmmm... That's what I wanted to see in last year's Olympics but I guess the all-star game is a nice appetizer.

Pens lost the game, which is the most important thing.

Figures you two would... "know" each other. How much does he pay you in casual nights? .

Who's a big young star in the MLB these days? Can't you just imagine hearing their name over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over... ...and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over?

Probably Team Ovechkin versus Team what's his face.

Not what I was talking about at all. I'm talking about being a moron in the locker room; stupid meaningless fights with teammates during practice and getting benched for a couple games the year before last. Then last year he made an improvement as at least he was able to only get benched for one game. With him you always have to worry about signs of Sergei Fedorov behavior on the ice. Hot dogging at its finest.

Should we risk our future for an elite defenseman?

I'm wondering who the hell decided to dub Kronwall as the next Lidstrom and based on what reasons? When he was in the AHL I was pretty excited but he played nothing like Lidstrom. For Kronwall I just hope he has a career as good as Rafalski has so far. -
Especially not for a guy like Andersson. At least, it's not really about stats for him this year. It'd be nice, don't get me wrong, but first of all, after seeing cases like Ryno and Axelsson, a part of me just hopes he doesn't get too homesick to the point where he leaves. Also, at the NHL level Andersson should be a very, very solid bottom six guy who can fill in every now and again in the top six. To come here in his first year and encounter a new style of game and new culture both on and off the rink and to earn his way to being the #1 PK forward for the Griffins to me is a fantastic accomplishment. Next year I think we can start dogpiling on him for not putting points up. I'll probably be among the first to do so, haha. Last year Almqvist came in with no expectations and this year he's got a whole s*** ton. All I look for is that he keeps logging big minutes and doesn't rack up too many minuses. Again, they don't tell the whole story but it's nice to see that the coaches trust him with TOI and he doesn't seem to be in bad situations too often so far. And it is understandable to wonder what's up with Sheahan since he is a first round pick. In regards to his progress I'm a little curious what's going on, not gonna lie. But again, he only had 17 points last year. If he matches that this year while getting more defensive responsibilities and whatnot then I'd consider that a decent enough year for him. He is only a sophomore so far and he's got the talent where he can explode at any day, especially if he were in a system that isn't as defense oriented as UND.

Just what some of us on here wanted to see, myself included, in regards to progress of Max Nicastro. Great progress from the kid. Hope he eventually becomes a Brad Stuart type dman.
-
He has scored one or two goals straight from the blue line that made the GR announcers say something along the lines of, "Shades of Lidstrom!" I just hope the days of him being an immature moron are fading away as time goes on.

Not sure what you mean by impressive but all three of those guys are right where they should be as they're each not so much exceeding expectations but they are meeting them. Last time I saw a Griffins game I noticed Andersson is the first PK forward they send out there. To me that's pretty impressive for what we expect out of him. This year Almqvist knew he would have to deal with some kind of sophomore slump. He's not on fire anymore but he's in the SEL now and he's still logging significant top 3 or 4 minutes last I checked. Sheahan had 17 points last year total and I'm not sure where he's paced to be at the end of the year but it can't be that significantly different. So, maybe not great, but they'll each be fine imo.
