Franzen really dominates the second line when it's him with Fil and Bert. If I'm an opponent, I send guys out to hack, whack and push him around, especially since he's slightly injured. When Franzen is having a decent day that line is a threat but without him that line is very average. And we all know that Franzen is made of glass. We may see more games like yesterday in which Hudler is in the top six for whatever reason. I guess these days that's how we're supposed to judge his play. Although I have to say that's very disappointing. I thought Hudler was supposed to be a player that can impact any line regardless of his linemates.

With the way Franzen is with his hip flexor or whatever which is obviously slowing him down a little, I'd be okay with him being on the third line for now.

So how many goals will Z score from now on...? 1 billion, gagillion, fafillion, shabolubalu million illion yillion...

So I feel like now Z can now explode for like a bazillion goals.

Hudler looks slow out there not just physically but mentally. Now hopefully that jinxes his play and he gets a goal for the Wings like now.

He sure did but why are the other lines not so good anymore. If the choices are a good 1st, 2nd and 4th with an average 3rd instead of the other way around then... Well, it's no contest, really.

Yeah but when does that ever happen? Eventually the conditioning and whatnot hits the player. I think last year Franzen came back and for the first few games it was as if he never left. As the season went on though the adrenaline wore off and he was really limited. I'd just like to plant the seed here on LGW that it might take Rafi some games to get back into the swing of things. He is pretty up there in terms of hwipping (Family Guy) boy status on LGW.

How many games do we have to be really patient with Rafalski until he can get back to his steady level of play?

You nailed it. My feeling is that's exactly what he's thinking. But if he thinks he's created a situation for himself similar to Zetterberg's then he is in for perhaps one of the rudest awakenings in prospect history.

This Callahan guy is really making some noise. You had to wonder to yourself, 'How is it that he is the first one among the draftees of 09 that got a contract?' But, man, is he ever showing his colors. In regards to RWC, well said. What really sucks about it is that the staff at RWC who write the scouting reports and the prospect features are of an incredible quality. They do absolutely fantastic work. And, really, I don't mean to say that LGW is such a great place in terms of its forum. To me, it's the best internet Red Wings forum by default. It's like the bar that may be the closest to a college campus that everyone complains about but still frequents because that's simply where the best available party is.

Anyone else feel like he is majorly due for a goal? I mean, he's still near the top in terms of points but man I feel like once he nets one that he's gonna go nuts. Or at least, I really hope he does. I miss goal scoring Z.

I like how some people complained about Cleary on here and then a few minutes later Babs trusted him enough to put him on the ice to protect the one goal lead and then he got an EN goal.

The OP just doesn't want the Wings to lose Hudler. It's a fair concern since lately he's been reminding us why scouts sometimes use the phrase, "Top Six or Bust".

I'm sure the rules are a serious work in progress. Let's just relax for the mean time. It's a tough call but it's not going to be like this forever.

Yeah. I used to go there a lot but once I realized the pattern it just got old really quick. It's a hell hole. But it's great to see you back around here! We definitely need someone who can update us more frequently on Callahan.

Here we have a team that isn't so successful and the Wings think their talent can just get them by. It's games like these that sometimes worry me even more than a "big" game against a team that is perhaps within the top of the league in regards to points. I just hope the Wings respect the Oilers with their approach; prepare and compete hard.
