Hmm... I don't. I remember watching him in the 08 playoffs and thinking, "Who the hell is this guy?" I suppose only the playoffs can really bring it out of him.

Brendan Smith nails Nylander from behind

Hehe. But that's just him being aggressive. He could even slewfoot a guy from behind and it'll be ok because he can conduct a post game interview with a smile and look people in the eye like Dan Boyle did. "Wow... He looks me in the eye! Aww he's just a typical rambunctious North American boy. He did no wrong." Note: I don't really have a point to all that sarcasm it's just that one episode during last year's Olympics came to mind. -
It would be so funny if Kronwall just got a warning and then that other guy that went for Franzen's head got a suspension.
-
Haha, I like how you forgot about the Pens.

Smith just has all this pent up rage from not being allowed to fight during college except during practice and against his own teammates. -
Guys like Pav and Z really should be point per game guys. I think that's a fair expectation for them. Especially if the Wings are going to be successful.

Anyone remember this game? Not much strategy like in most hockey video games today but this one was still a lot of fun to me.
-
Wow... Whatever happened to the people that couldn't stand to see Lidstrom and Stuart on the same pair?

After last night's head shot by whoever it was, I'm actually starting to worry a little for Franzen's well being. Guys are just going to keep going after his head. Mule has a history of concussions. He is annoying to play against for many reasons whether it be scoring or every now and again agitating and then running away. Lastly, from a strategic standpoint, he is the major focal point of the 2nd line, which is playing pretty good right now. Take him out and that line is nowhere near as good. I totally agree with Mickey that he should get his stick or gloves up and protect himself whenever he can. Can't really dodge everything.

Some decent extensive analysis of the goals against in which the third line unfortunately had to witness so far this season:
-
You mean give the Modano line the 4th line matchup? That's not a bad idea. They'll get those minutes and the power play time for Modano and Hudler along with the penalty kill time for Cleary if I'm not mistaken.

10/22 GDT: Milwaukee Admirals @ Grand Rapids Griffins

Looks like they took care of business against one of the lesser teams in the league. Good stuff. What were the lines? -
I thought that was pretty noticeable though because he had him going back and forth. Last night I didn't really notice him dangle anyone until I saw the replay a couple times.

When was the last time Datsyuk made someone his toy that subtly?
-
Future headline: Devils "loan" superstar Kovalchuk to the KHL.
-
Well I mean, we just don't know what the league thinks anymore with the new rules. We understand "it's hockey" but things this year are even more unclear with what the league wants to enforce.

Euro hater.

This one's extended. http://www.detroithockey.net/multimedia/2007/12/29/pavel_datsyuk_races_in_on.php Something's up with this guy's kool-aid, hehe.

Some really great quotes:
-
They should really make Ericsson force his way onto the lineup somehow through practice, etc. if Kindl remains solid. But they'll probably give the one with more experience an opportunity to re-establish himself as usual.
-
Had that nice pass to Helm too. Sometimes I wonder what kind of style they play out there because they don't ever seem to be able to pin the opponent in their own zone. Oh well.

I'm starting to wonder if there really is such a thing as a team "firing on all cylinders" so to speak. In all honesty and realism, what would that even look like for this team?
