Just realized that I like this signing for another reason. Ilari has a chance to be a decent prospect but also I like how he can provide somewhat of a "mentor" presence for Val. It seems like no one else knows Val's struggle with confidence and "courage" as he put it than his older brother Ilari. He can be there to encourage him and push him at the same time, which is a kind of quality influence that is much more salient when it comes from an older brother, especially when they're as close as they are.

How long did it take for us to like Fisher? Until the 2002 cup? And even after that he fell out of favor with us for a little bit then started to play like a true quality dman until his accident. How about Kronwall? 2008 cup? Unfortunately for Ericsson, he'll have to play a significant part in this year's 2011 cup if we are ever to like him, .

NHL Predicts A Capitals-Red Wings Stanley Cup Final

I feel like this is just a big jinx. Ah well. -
Here we go again. Fil, for God's sake, shoot the damn puck!

Does today's game emphasize speed and energy moreso than at any other point in history? That can be a bad thing as well. Players are human. At what point is it too much?

That commercial reminds me of the comments John Salley once said about Joe Dumars. "Joe is as nice as everyone says he is... Until you gotta play against him. You should ask Michael Jordan about that one."

It's nice the Wings have five guys who are hungry to be on that fourth line and prove themselves every night. Great for the team. At the same time, from the perspective of the guys as individuals, it kind of sucks because none of those guys should be sitting as reserve forwards for any game and I'm sure they feel that way too.

Bahahahahaha!!!! That was so freaking funny... Love it. Absolutely love it. Hehehe... "Until the puck drops" BAM!!! Hahaha...

Hehe. What's confusing to me sometimes is the rate at which people still shell out their hard earned cash for that price hike. But they tell me "It's about the whole game experience". I suppose I understand.

Now it's a contest to see who can get the last word.

I had a sudden vision come to me earlier that the Wings had a third line of Cleary-Andersson-Mursak and they were the among the top 3 third lines in the NHL. Not bad.

Lidstrom can't save everybody I guess. Depending on whom you ask, Lilja and Dandenault seem to be relatively recent cases of no Lidstrom effect.

41 shots on goal... That's Ovechkin like isn't it?

Anyone else remember that comment from Babs when he said, "We got six guys that can each play 20 minutes a night"? I doubt he'll actually do that but it seems like to him on some level it doesn't particularly matter what the lines are for the dmen, at least in a more long-term sense. It seems like he feels as if he will go by the matchup. If you want it you can get it let me know... I'm 'bout to f... Alright I'll stop there. I had to bust out a lil Lil' Jon, .

On HF boards there's a rumor that the Wings offered him a scouting position if he were to retire. Yeah I know, it's HF, but hey, if true then I'm glad for Malts.

What? Where? I mean... Wait, what?

Pretty much. BTW, nice quick edit. That's something E probably doesn't like to hear. I feel like he sees himself or would love to be a great puck mover. But maybe he needs to realize that his ceiling in terms of moving the puck is more like a Brad Stuart; a player that can move the puck well but in limited touches when they're not the main puck mover, which means he really needs to develop some confidence without the puck.
-
Miller to me is like a Cleary-type. Willing to do anything to be effective. Seems like that's how Kenny and Babs see them as well.
-
I might be making mountains out of molehills but does this comment by Babs imply that the team would NOT have good puck movement if E was on the third pairing?
-
I feel like this is all about matching up size with the Getzlaf line and trying to allow E to build confidence in himself. If the Wings played the Blackhawks, they'd probably send Kronwall out there with Nick so you have two guys that can move the puck really well.
