The Filppula line is definitely the one I have the most doubts about. That is, if it's going to be Mule-Fil-Bert. If Hudler plays on the 2nd line and Mule fully commits to being the Holmstrom for that line then I think we could see something really good. So did Filppula, unfortunately. Maybe not in the beginning of the season like Bert but man oh man did we have some angry LGW members. Correct me if I'm wrong but other than on the power play and during his hot streak in late of '08 when he spent time with both Datsyuk and Zetterberg, I don't remember Franzen playing that Holmstrom role. In 5 on 5 situations I've mostly seen him as more of a shooter closer to the perimeter than the guy at the net. I've just always seen him have more of a taste for being the sniper during ES situations. So, in terms of the areas of the ice he tends to occupy, I don't think we'll see much of a difference. But we will in terms of an increase in production mainly because he should be healthy by team reports.

Perhaps a future linemate of Callahan in which they're both wearing red and white?

Just let the whiny bandwagon fans have their fun. Many of us Wings fans have been around long enough to know that you have to do your research from another team's perspective and THEN form an opinion as opposed to only knowing your own home team, which is clearly the case of the trolls here on this board. Just don't think their example is how the bulk of their fans behave, as tempting as it is because they do have some pretty intelligent fans.

Yeah that line definitely has the most question marks. They're mostly on Fil though unfortunately. We've seen him play with confidence every now and again. He's got to play that way for at least 98 games, . Can he play more aggressive on offense? Can he possess the puck with aplomb and be the playmaker? Can he shoot the puck well? All that while maintaining his defensive game?

So on the Red Wings we got... Lidstrom-Rafalski Kronwall-Stuart Ericsson-Salei Kindl Man on man GR's blue line is pretty clogged. I guess Piche and Ehrhardt will have to wait another year before they get some solid GR time. Janik-Pyett Smith-Lashoff Meech-Kolosov Amadio-Ehrhardt Piche
