Also, the whole square peg in round hole idea reminds me of this quote of Babs' about Jonte: I imagine that at times Ericsson wanted to just play his game but that didn't work out so well. Side note: Man it took me forever to find that quote about Ericsson and skill plays.

How do you feel about Kindl's potential now?

I've been watching some of the games from last year and the year before. I've always wondered something about Franzen. His brief THN scouting report says that he needs to improve his passing ability. Some games you don't notice it but other you really do notice it and wonder whether or not he should be one of the two guys on the line that are supposed to possess and handle the puck most of the time. A good reason for why some on here want the 2nd line to be Hudler-Filppula-Franzen.

Yeah that's true. At the same time, we've had Jamie Pushor, Uwe Krupp, Jamie Rivers and Kyle Quincey as stated in this thread. Guys who didn't make all that much impact as Red Wings. Kindl doesn't exactly have a number with good juju around it, which doesn't help the fact that many already think he's a bust. Red Kelly is cursing that number from the heavens.

Out of all the lines I'd have to say that I'm most worried about the Filppula line and whether or not they can develop great chemistry.

Ehh, I prefer hockey history and not just NHL. The Soviet system, despite it's political issues, was pretty unique in the way they played the game.

Good. I want the Wings to take all of that in. Maybe it'll give them a little fire. They know deep down that if they were healthy against those turds in a playoff series that they would've come out the winner.
