Found this on that event: http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/11551371/

Nevermind. Although I don't remember Getzlaf being so dominant though.
-
I kind of feel this way too. I love Abdelkader but he's too much of a question mark right now. Especially with the style of play he likes he's going to need time to learn how to pace himself and when to go all kamikaze Dallas Drake and when to let the game come to him.
-
Hahaha... Martin Erat as captain.
-
Well tell me about your experience with him or whoever had the experience with him. Be specific.
-
Oh come on... The Wings have Filppula, Teemu. How can he resist?
-
I guess that only works in the CHL or something like that.
-
I thought about a thread where we could maybe guesstimate who would get injured and for how many games. Bad juju?
-
Every now and again in this thread you hear about how Modano is a ****** or something like that. Can anybody go into details on what gave them that impression?
-
How is he an ass?
-
Should we hope that the draft class for all these CHI picks is a thin one?
-
Well, I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if the Hawks brass weren't panicking right now even though their cap situation is pretty bad and the Cup is the reason why.
-
It might not be a valid assessment of his overall game but he quite frequently looked panicked as if he didn't know what he was doing. It's like someone said in a news article the other day that in the pros you should know what you're going to do with the puck before you get it. It's that kind of play that makes some Wings fans think, "Ehh... Maybe this guy doesn't have it."
-
I wonder how many prospect they'll use and what it will do to their prospect pool. Even though it's frustrating to watch talents like Kindl rot away in the AHL there is something to be said for giving prospects time to develop. Now the Hawks have to rush the development of some of their prospects and it might not turn out so well.
-
Haha. You're amazing.
-
Yeah I know. They're gonna have the best prospect pool again like they did before Toews and Kane came to NHL.
-
That's cool. Guess he's preparing for a job he'll have when he moves back home. Joe Dumars also has a degree in (business) management.
-
Oh mannn... I vaguely remember the day we kept going with stuff like that. Wish I could easily find that thread.
-
Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder.
-
But Chicago will get SJ's 1st and 3rd picks...
-
Also, Mike claimed that he had the impression that he was free to play as long as he wanted.
-
I did a quick search and couldn't find it but I'll definitely keep looking. It was during the 2009 run and the Wings were in a game against Anaheim. EDIT: Oh mannn... No wonder. YT took it down. But here's a writing about it by George Malik so that at least people know I'm not making this up: http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/2009/05/hell_has_a_slight_frost_don_ch.html I just remember the look on Ozzie's face in that clip as he talked with Lebda. It was like, "What the hell was that?" Kind of like the few times where Stuart and Lebda were stuck on the ice together this past season. The other team would score a goal and Stuart would have a look on his face like, "What the hell are you doing here?" because Bart was so out of position.
-
well you hope not. depends where he is mentally and emotionally.

I actually like that idea. EDIT: Some more thoughts on it. If more things go right than wrong I see that back end lineup as quite deep. It paints a nice picture, regardless of whether or not it's true. Nick-Rafi, tried and true. Ericsson loves playing with Kronwall. Stuart a stable stay at home presence for Smith. But what would you do about Kindl in that scenario? Who knows? Maybe trade him for a draft pick, a #7 dman and a bottom six stable physical presence or something, I don't know. It'd be nice if the Wings could finally get someone to keep the flies off and play hockey.
-
True. One difference though is Smith has been a guy who doesn't really struggle with confidence the way Ericsson does. It's the opposite where he actually gets overconfident.
