Not a good thread. Not because Filppula has been that good, but because plenty others have been worse. And he's still a plus 5 in 6 games I believe. He's obviously not been great in the last two games, but who has? Personally I believe there are other players who are being outplayed and the Head Coach and Defensive Coach don't look too great against McLellans Sharks. Man I wish their head coach was still our defensive coach, cos McCrimmon blows.

Good stuff, I suspect Modano will be back in for Game 2 and at least it's a clear statement to him that he has to play better. He has been poor and although he obviously came for this time of year, I'm glad he's been scratched. It's not as if he's been on the league minimum to play here either. Hopefully when he gets back in we see a different Modano than the one we've watched so far this season.

The difference between this game and the last Nashville game was obvious. When you stand up to bullies, they back down. (Sorry to put it in such childish terms, but the principle remains). You say you're not going to take s***. And a team that doesn't stand up for itself doesn't get any respect because of it. It's pretty obvious. I'm completely NOT a big 'enforcer' person, but toughness and not taking any s*** is vital. Nashville didn't keep trying s*** after the fight(s). So I'd say it is related to Bert's fighting Abby's hitting, and general 'not getting pushed around' attitude from the others. Bert and Abby were great.
