He got paid 7.4m for this season. For that money, and the type of player Hossa is, you'd expect a better playoffs. Saying that Hudler or Sammy didn't score as many goals as him is missing the point - they aren't paid like Hossa is. With the $$$ comes expectations. Factor in 1) He came here to win a cup and 2) He was facing the Pens, then there's no doubt to me that he's been a big disappointment in the playoffs. That said, if he was to sign for a reasonable amount of money, I wouldn't complain. Perhaps he will re-sign, and go on to win a few cups with the Wings after all? Personally I wouldn't re-sign him - Mostly because it would give us some room with the Cap and keep our depth.

Z was the player I felt most sorry for. His effort and performance deserved the cup, one or two others did not.

I remember a game against the Avs last season - I think it was the one where Laperriere hit Lidstrom, and Babcock and the Avs' Granato were squaring up to each other. And in the middle of Babcock puffing out his chest and giving it with both barrels to the Avs, Franzen was in the foreground and he starts laughing to himself. I'd imagine the banter can be pretty funny, even when it's supposed to be serious, and sometimes you gotta chuckle. Maybe this is the same thing.

Absolutely. But, you know, any excuse for some fans to responds with 'OMG he beat down an innocent woman with a chair, he's worse than Hitler!!' The press box at the Joe is meant to be pretty cramped. The woman's comments sounded very tongue-in-cheek ('checked into the boards and I didn't even have the puck'). I mean he may well be an ass, but the whole things sounds pretty ridiculous.

I think the fact that people may have thought that the Avs could get away with what they wanted to do on Detroit and not suffer the consequences. Didn't they play a few times after the Draper hit without much incident? For sure, the Avs were probably laughing at the Wings and the lack of the much talked about 'revenge'. A statement had to be made to the Avs, and after that, well, it showed that the Wings weren't going to be out-fought, even in the literal sense. Great watching those videos again, always enjoyable.

I agree with the article. I can't stand MacLean and Stock is horrific, he can't even speak coherently. TSN seem to be the best, I like McKenzie and they actually discuss things, and hold their own opinions.
