Maybe there's a reason for the sarcasm... and skepticism...
-
Woah, Chicago 5-0 up on AO and the Caps. Weird. Wings turned it on in the 3rd. Hope Z has got his groove back for the playoffs.
-
!!! Can ya feel it? Huh? Zetterberg is back...
-
:siren: Z!
-
PP C'mon wings, they're about to fold...
-
lol, Yeah it does seem similar. We just have to put more than a 'scoop slam' on Colombus now though! PP! Go Wings!
-
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!
-
Kopecky is irritating - when he goes deep he doesn't seem to be fighting for it at all... And Drake gets a penalty.
-
Ugh. Pretty Lousy showing tonight so far...
-
Uninspiring so far, although Ozzie has been great. Is it me or does Larry Murphy's Hair get bigger every game?
-
That's 20 goals this season for Franzen after tonight. Cleary and Homer already on 20, Filppula is on 19 (hopefully he'll break 20 too). Franzen's looked a different player recently - it seems like he really is a confidence player. He needs to keep this attitude, to know he's a good player and play with a chip on his shoulder. Hope he keeps up this form... Well done Johan.

Phoenix Just to see all the f-bombs flying...

Lol, 2 goals, 2 assists for Helm as Griffins win 7-1.
-
A goal and an assist for Helm tonight against the Marlies, and it's only the 2nd period. (Also, a goal by Mark O'Leary, a guy just signed to a professional tryout from the brilliantly named Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees..) Good work Helm.

I think the UK soccer riots problem is a stereotype nowadays. In the past it was more of a problem, but with the huge money that is involved in the English Premier League, for example, such 'riots' wouldn't be tolerated. (And certainly are not tolerated.) I can't remember the last time anything close to a 'riot' happened in the English Premier League, for example. In recent times, the main 'trouble' between fans seems to happen when English clubs play teams in mainland Europe, or vice versa. Often, a small minority of 'fans' travel with the sole intention of looking for a fight and often haven't even got tickets to the game. In fact, with these people the game is a distant second in their priorities. In some ways the reputation of British teams and their fans work unfairly against them - there has been many situations where European police have used obscene and excessive force for seemingly very little reason, inciting 'riot' conditions themselves. (Last season, Spanish police were seen using batons on a crowd, knocking a disabled Spurs fan out of his wheelchair, for god's sake) Another thing to note is the problem of racism - it used to be a problem in England at matches but is now virtually non-existent, whereas in leagues like Italy and Spain, reports of fans racially abusing players is much higher. Of course, countries in South America are a bit different and I'm sure there are logical reasons as to why they occur more often. I can't say I follow the Colombian league. The main reason why the sport is so popular globally is because it's probably the most basic sport in terms of what you need to play. A ball. That's it. So street kids in the poorest countries can play without needing any money to shell out on equipment etc. In fact, most of the true legends of the game, the real top-class players are invariably from poor, working-class backgrounds. Personally, I've always played and loved the game. (I don't think there was an ice-rink in my country never mind my town when I was young. Recently, I've grown somewhat disillusioned with it as big-bucks infiltrate the sport, the rule-makers basically want to ban any physcial play whatsoever, and fancy-haired funboys flop and dive around the field pretending they've been shot up the arse. (All of which are actually much more of a genuine threat to the sport than riots!) To the football fans who might read this, I'm a Liverpool fan, which may explain the disenchantment!

Sounds like a fun game, I'm stuck with radio. Good to see Stuart get his first. Go wings!

McCarty played his last home game with the Griffins last night, getting an assist. He has two road games to go before he comes up. Nice wee video and report about his time in GR from mlive: McCarty's Last Home Game

Yeah, I'm 27 and the writing is on the wall as far as the hair is concerned. I was gonna shave it (probably still will) but it's almost become too popular. Everyone the least bit balding shaves it nowadays. So I say kudos to Rafalski - he's keeping it real, baby! And there's nothing better than seeing a small bald guy taking out some Blue trash!
-
He's doing the bald community proud. Great to see him back. Puzzles me why he drew criticism earlier in the season, sure he occasionally turns it over but his offensive game more than makes up for it, IMO.

Rafalski = Legend Blues = pieces of crap
-
Ah I love Rafalski... Downey assist? Cool.
-
franzen ftw!

Yay! Wings looking decent so far. Blues looking lousy. Bah! Sammy! How can you not score? What's his stick made of?! Nice move though.
