Adam Burish: Chris Pronger Is The Biggest Idiot In The League
Green Wing replied to jeff48109's topic in General
Pronger probably said to Burish at some stage "I eat pieces of s*** like you for breakfast." -
Carter really sucks balls. Must be the dodgy feet.

Yeay! That line is a beast, with Leino and Hartnell...

That is just GOLD.

I remember hearing an interview with Tatar last season on the Griffins radio. Although his English wasn't fantastic, he came across as a real good kid with a great sense of humor. It was around the time of the Olympics, and they were asking him about the Slovakian players. He mentioned Chara, and said 'he's a little bit more higher than me, and a little bit more weigher'. I know you can't tell much from a tiny snippet, but he struck me as having a good head on his shoulders and as someone who will make the best of his situation no matter what it is. I'd guess he'd be a hit with his teammates, too. Really excited to see how he comes along.

Bertuzzi states he will either stay with wings or retire
Green Wing replied to Lidstrom for life's topic in General
I'm fairly sure that under the terms of the CBA, he's due a small increase up to roughly 890k. Hopefully that would be the extent of it, for now. -
I was hoping optimistically for a 1.8m cap hit. 1.875 is pretty great! Hope it's true.

I'd much rather Philly win it. Chicago have a crazy amount of salaries at their disposal - this is the one year where they basically HAVE to win it, so it would be all the more sweeter if they fail. (Still think Chicago will win it in 6 though) And I can't really explain why, but I hate Pronger much less now than I have in the past. Weird. Go Flyers.

Nice switcheroo by the Hawks. Good job refs

Goal. Sharp, 1-1.

This is the same Brad Watson that reffed Detroit at San Jose in Game 2, right?

It was 50 to 49.9 in favour of Stamkos just now. A few more votes might swing it Pav's way...

I attended 2 Wings games this season, which for somebody on the other side of the Atlantic I guess isn't bad. My first ever, Vancouver on October 27th. Ozzie was yanked after giving up 2 goals on 3 or 4 shots (or something). Wings with a comeback won the game 5-4. Pretty damn cool, because I loved Vancouver too, so to see the Wings win there was awesome. I was fearing the worst when Ozzie skated to the bench (we were just joking about Ozzie before the game - then we were like ). It was the first game where I thought Jimmy looked like he was up to the job. Then I saw them play Toronto on November 7th, the Hall of Fame game. The induction ceremony was pretty cool, the 5-1 thrashing considerably less so. I'm pretty sure the Leafs fans thought they'd won the Stanley Cup that night, judging from their behaviour and celebrations afterwards. Haven't been to the Joe yet though, much to my chagrin. As for favourite moments - the most dramatic game winner was Zetterberg's against Vancouver in OT in March. And I loved Jimmy with the facewash on Sidney too.

Anyone but the Pens.

Yes, please. Apart from the obvious 'nothing' that Williams brings, he won't be back next year and Ritola will be, so yes. Personally, I'd throw in May too, for Draper, who's doing nothing. Of course that won't happen.

Eastern Time games are fine, usually over by 3am. These west coast games are a killer though. It sucks to be going to bed at 5.30am, and it's particularly bad after a loss. It would make sense to sleep before, then get up for the game but I can never sleep so I don't bother. I tried it once last year and I missed the first period of a Ducks game. Usually I just grin and bear it the next day on 3 hours sleep...then catch up a few days later with a mammoth 16 hour sleepathon

Detroit: Zetterberg Stuart Franzen Phoenix: Jovanovski
-
Anyone else think Stuart is playing great at the moment? He's our only real physical presence on defense, and he seems to have a lot of confidence on the puck too.
