Also, this was kind of creepy foreshadowing of events, but the day before this happened to Zednik I read this ARTICLE about a similiar event that happened to a college hockey player. Looks like this kind of thing unfortauntely happens more often then I thought.

For some reason, Radulov, Arnott, and Dumont all look alike in those pics...Anyways, won't be able to watch this one tonight due to class, but I'll be taking advantage of the wireless internet avaliability in my lecture hall to keep track of the game. In Red Wing fashion this year, they will follow a short losing streak with a long win streak starting tonight. Wings 5 Preds 2

Malarchuk Espn Interview I know a lot of us were wondering about Malarchuk--ESPN just posted this about all the repercussions he's had mentally with his injury and how the Zednik thing has made him relive his incident.

Interesting Wings factoids/performance assessments

Thanks for sharing, that was a really interesting take on things. Makes me even more bitter that Cleary will be out as long as he will be, but what can you do? I know that Huddles has been struggling of late, but I never heard that he was a healthy scratch--I thought Ken Daniels said he was sick? What's up with that? -
YahooBlog I read this article on yahoosports and wanted to share. This is the unfortunate reality of the nhl unless some rules are changed and some protection in the neck/face region is enforced.

Hey, espn.com just reported that it was not the juglar, but the carotid artery which was surgically repaired.Short ESPN update on Zednik

OMG, that's so awful. Watching that video however reminds me of just how tough hockey players are. We have Dwayne Wade being wheeled off the basketball court for a sprained ankle, and here is Zednik getting himself off the ice with a life-threatening injury to his neck. Good to here that he is in stable condition and hopefully he gets well soon.

1. Crawford 2. Crawford 3. Crawford 4. Gretzky 5. Trotz And while we've already had a top 5 least favorite players and least favorite coaches, I need to add in Brian Burke as my least favorite GM.

I will be the first to say that i absolutely love dan cleary, but i have a problem when players are like I love being here, I want to be here for a long time, etc. etc. and then end up leaving for more money. For me, it is like if you really want to be a red wing you'll take the pay cut and this wouldn't even be an issue. This is going to be Cleary's biggest nhl contract and I know that he wants to do what is right for his family in the long run, but if you want to stay here long term and truly enjoy being a Red Wing take the 2.5 mil. that holland is willing to offer and prove it.

Vokoun calls wings "arrogant" I was starting to second guess myself there, but he def. called the wings "arrogant" whiners.
-
Yea, really. Dates back to the 2004 playoffs in particular, him calling the wings "arrogant" and such. He's a great goalie, but in that instance he needed to keep his mouth shut. My hatred for him has dwindled a lot since then, especially since he no longer plays for the preds, but there aren't too many players in this league that i dont like and he is still one of them.

1. Chris Pronger 2. Corey Perry 3. Tomas Vokoun 4. Scott Hartnell 5. Jordin Tootoo

I hate listening to the game on the radio. My roommate is asleep and she hates when I have the tv on while she is sleeping--so basically I am using lgw for my game knowledge, so please inform me of everything I am missing.

I only have my faves and least faves, no in between.... Favorites: Cleary and Kronner Least Favorite: Samuelsuck by a long shot.

I don't know why Ozzie has been singled out here...Maybe he isn't playing as well as earlier this season, but neither are Hank, Holmer, etc. I mean, Hossa just basically went around Lidstrom tonight on one of those goals, so no fault to Ozzie there. The team is in a slump, not just him. Once we get some offense going again, work on that pk, the team will win and Ozzie will get back in the groove of things. I am the ultimate worrier, and I am not worried.
-
The only good thing about a mini slump is that the red wings seem to follow that with a 9 game win streak (knock on wood)... Wings win 5-1 with cleary getting 2.

I have to agree...that (porno) mustache is awful.
