I just read something on ESPN, and the writer stated that the league needed to suspend Roberts to display a point about head hunting....now, that is what the league should do, and I know that they won't actually do it--but this writer had a good point.
-
ESPN article I read this on ESPN and thought Burnside (I think it was him) made some good points, in particular I found this interesting: His comments on Roberts' cheapshot to Franzen also bring up a good point...

I just can't believe how naive the Pens are being. The refs didn't lose this game, Ozzie didn't lose this game, YOU did. Stop complaining.
-
Did he really say that? Umm, you are being outscored 7-0 in the series Hal.
-
Good, I hope Therien keeps choosing to blame the refs/Ozzie for his team's losses, rather than looking at the guys on his bench and making them responsible for their own play. That'll guarantee a nice, short series for sure.

Five minutes are potentially left in the Flames' series, and I am noticing the same thing--no urgency, like they just want to season to be over already.
-
The NHL will hardly fine certain players if they try to chop somebody's leg off with a skate, so now they are going to try and fine for this. Get your priorities in line Bettman. Next he is going to ban all music except organ playing because it gets fans excited about the game.

I was at my friend's party, when the worst happened: we ran out of booze. So I got the the short stick and ha to walk to the liquor store and get more...the bad news is that I wasn't there to see the OT goal, but the good news is that they were playing it at the store, and the place went nuts when Franzen scored. A lets go red wings chant broke out and everything. It was amazing--it was so awesome to see how excited everybody got, including myself!

I am totally with you on the calmness associated with Ozzie in net. I just read an article about him, and Ozzie saying that with all his experience comes that idea of never feeling a sense of panic. The team will sense that calmness, as well as feel the intensity coming from a goalie starting his first playoff game of the series. The interesting thing with this goalie situation is that I have always been a Hasek over Ozzie fan--so for me to say that I have the confidence in Ozzie is saying a lot. Lets Go Ozzie, Lets Go Wings!

Great move. Helm has a great work ethic, and will go hard into the corners. He'll get limited minutes, but I look forward to seeing him.
-
Probably, he is most likely flattered by all the attention he gets.

Haha logo hunter and eRAT...I'm currently beginning my all-nighter to study for finals and that was just the laugh I needed. 4-1 Wings (I originally thought shutout, but am feeling it would be meaningful for nashville to only score one goal, thus ending their back-to-back goal streak thing they have going on). Also, is if for sure that Lebda is getting the nod tonight over Lilja?
-
Haha, funny--but it is a real good point. Everybody begins with a clean-slate in the playoffs. Hartigan has played in the nhl, Abdelkader/Helm, not so much. I personally think Abdelkader would make the fourth line less useless and at least you know he'll go in hard for the hit. Also, I'd put Lilja back in and take Lebda out--for the very fact that Lebda has always failed to impress me, even with that speed. Lils will hopefully be pissed about his benching and have his head more in the game. Bottom line though: Lets Go Ozzie!
-
I hardly think it is arrogance coming from ESPN, knowing that they never have anything but not nice things to say about our Wings...regardless, Lets go Ozzie, Lets go Wings!
-
I said this on another thread but I'll say it again: PTI on espn (yes espn talked about hockey) said that the chances that the wings lose the series now that Ozzie is in net is "ZERO percent." Let's all try to have that sort of confidence. LETS GO RED WINGS!
-
Haha, I know I was absolutely shocked. interestingly, they were talking about the Wings/Preds series and Sidney Crosby somehow got in the conversation...looks like espn even has a love affair with him. Now, I don't think the chances of the Wings winning the series are 100%, like PTI said, but with any bit of solid goaltending from Ozzie, I think we'll be good.
-
Shocker...PTI on ESPN a. is talking about hockey and b. is talking about the Wings. The question was asked, what are the chances the wings lose the series? I forgot guys name, but he said now with Ozzie in net, the chances are "zero percent." Geeze, I wish I had that much confidence.
-
Haha...ohh Avery :rotflmao:
-
Yea, I definitely wouldn't say he is "hot." as in hot like Roloson in the playoffs a few years back. We know we can get pucks by Ellis, we just need to create more traffic and shoot the puck more. Cutsy goals are great, but not right now.
-
Shoot the puck--Ellis has the worst rebound control. So shoot the puck and charge the net. Also as redwing_sparty said, Abdelkader for Hartigan. Ozzie for Hasek.
-
My opinion on this is: it is only 2-2...last year's Calgary series was at 2-2 four games in and we picked it up in game 5 and finished them off in game 6. I am just taking this one game at a time: we take care of business in game 5 and it is all good... I don't want to get the whole "i sill believe" thing going, at least until (god forbid) we are down 3-2. Right now it is a best of 3 series, we can do it.

Haha, I don't know how I missed that one, it is great!

Hmm, interesting switch. Lebda will definitely be looking to prove himself tonight, though I don't exactly agree with putting him in. Seems like Lebda is excellent at getting hit hard, and that isn't exactly an upside. Anyways, I am willing to give him a chance, knowing that our defense has been positionally awful on a couple of the goals.
