I do not understand why Babcock and co like Kopecky so much. The guy is pretty useless and really doesn't throw his weight around like he should for someone his size. I never even realize he's on the ice for most games as the only time my attention is brought to him is when it's something negative like being penalized or knocked down on his ass. Helm or even Abdelkader would be an upgrade over Kopecky imo. The greatest contribution Kopecky has made to this team has been off ice in helping to land Hossa on this team.

As a few have already mentioned, bobby's game tying goal against San Jose was epic. Without that we don't win that game and probably go on to lose the series as it would have been 3-1 SJ. Say what you will about Lang, but he was clutch in the playoffs. Hope he gets better.

While it is a bit disturbing that we have lost 5 in a row, our season is by no means over. Even if we do fall to 3rd, so what. I am confident that this team, come playoff time, will step it up. It seems that our boys are bored playing in these regular season games. After winning the cup and dominating everyone they played, it's like they have nothing else to prove/accomplish. Even homer said in an interview earlier in the season that they play better when they are behind. Also keep in mind a lot of teams are gunning for us and playing their best when we play.

Sell. How many times are the Yankees going to to try and buy a championship? Have they not learned their lesson? Talent alone doesn't win championships. CC Sabathia is horrible against Boston and chokes in the playoffs, besides he is pretty much replacing Mussina who won 20 games last season so that is a wash. AJ Burnett is injury prone and his best season came last year which ironically enough was his contract year. He's got loads of talent but can't seem to reach his full potential. I don't see them beating out BOTH Boston and Tampa Bay so they may get a wildcard. These are the same old Yankees who load up on guys like Abreu, Giambi, A-rod, etc and don't get past the second round.

This. That should end the debate right there. The only explanation is that the defense plays better with Conklin in net which seems like a stretch. The other is that he is just playing better, which seems more likely.

It's alright Duck guy, I get you. But, it still does not diminish the fact that Bettman loves Crosby. That's not even up for debate. I think Wings fan have had enough of Bettman and this, even though he may not be wrong, is the last straw. First was the octopus fan inciting thing during the playoffs. Secondly, the Crosby marketing is getting really old really fast. Only the NHL would put a commercial showing highlights of the LOSING team in the SCF on tv. Also, when handing out the Stanley Cup, Bettman looked so demoralized that we won. He presented it and got off the ice so fast, it was pretty funny.

Well since the Ducks tv crew was brought up I'll continue on it. Those guys are the biggest homers no doubt. Since I live in Orange County I see their broadcasts from time to time and they are horrible. Everything the Ducks do is amazing and a great play but when the other team makes an incredible shot or a goalie makes a fantastic save they say how lucky it is and how unfortunate it is and what a bad break the Ducks got. Hayward especially, Ahlers isn't as bad.

Wow, it amazes me that a lot of people here want to see Stuart/Rafalski/Lilja gone. How about we dumb Lebda? Lilja has been one of our best defenceman, at least consistent which is more than I can say for a few guys on this team. He leads us in blocked shots and is second in hits on the team and you want him gone? Stuart has played well also overall and besides Lilja is our only real physical presence on this team. Also, Filppula hasn't played well but you have to understand, since we got Hossa, his role has been decreased as he was supposed to get more minuets and be depended upon more. If we are to get rid of anyone it should Lebda, Kopecky and sammy.

As someone mentioned , this team reminds me of the 05-06 team. Great power play, a lot of talent, but too much pressure on the offense and decent goaltending but nothing spectacular. Hopefully this season doesn't end the same as that one did. It just feels like guys are relying on their talent too much and not working.

The thing that really bothers me is not so much the calls but the inconsistency of them. If they are going to call a penalty on the wings then call it on the other team as well. It seems that a penalty in the 1st period is not a penalty in the 3rd.

Malts was great tonight indeed. The one play I remember was him him the corner while we were killing off a penalty in the second period and he got hit like twice and still got to the puck and was able to make a pass. In addition he killed off a good 10-15 in that corner battling.

I believe this is the game the wings turn their defense around and play a full 60 minutes. 4-1 wings win.

Does anyone have a rough estimation of what the cap numbers would be if sammy, mac, Franzen and maybe even hudler left and we re-signed Hossa? If their was some money left over we could sign someone to help replace the loss Franzen if we indeed decided to take Hossa over Franzen.
