    Game Time Change?

Sorry, I didn't know where else to post this. This is the most recent topic about the game tomorrow and there isnt a GDT for it yet either so... yeah I'll be at the Joe tomorrow to cheer on my boys. I'll be in section 126 row 10 during the game, (down by my guys for warmups) Don't be afraid to say hi and just mention LGW. I'm civil. we can talk haha. I also have one question, would the Ducks be coming from the bench to the ice for warmups or do they come out of the Zamboni tunnel? Thanks and Go Ducks! Here's to a good game!

It's too bad that I'll forever think of Paulina as a dirty, stinkin rat!!! They way he left us... broke my heart as a young Ducks fan... grrrr anyways Stevie Y - Wings Weight - Blues Messier - Rangers Gretzky - Oilers Hasek - Sabres Pronger - Blues (subject to change... if he stays a Duck long enough I'll keep him as a Duck) S. Niedermayer - Devils (ditto to Pronger's) Selanne - Ducks Khabibulin - Lightning Belfour - Blackhawks Leetch -Rangers Blake - Queen Forsberg - Avalanche Bertuzzi - Canuck Jagr - Penguin The list goes on...

    Official: Selanne signs with Ducks

It's almost a given that Scott and Teemu won't be back next year, especially given their waffling towards retirement this year. IF they wanted to, Burke has said he wont let this crap happen next year. Theyve got to make a decision by early July. This will be Teemu's last hurrah. Scott has one more year left, so he is the one that is almost iffy. If the Ducks were to win the Cup again this year, then theyre both done. Period. If they dont, Scott is the only one who has to make the decision because he has that one year left. But I think Teemu has said somewhere that this will be the last year.

    Official: Selanne signs with Ducks

I know that you all don't like that this is happening especially in the way it is. But I have nothing really substantial to say to this except this. Yes Yes Y-E-S Yessssssssssssss Teemu is joining the team on the upcoming monster of a roadtrip (8 games, 15 days). I will be in Detroit on the 10th and I hope to GOD to see him on that ice. That ice. The scene of the crime he pulled on the Wings last year. Yes, Yes, Yes Go Ducks

    Official: Selanne signs with Ducks

Selanne can sign a contract that would pay 2 mil for a complete season, but the actual count against the cap would be however many games are left and that would give him the pro-rated salary for hte rest of the season and the cap hit. It's what happened with Niedermayer earlier. His contract said he would get $6.5 million a year, but since he was suspended he lost the money on his game checks, and so the Ducks didnt have to pay him taht money. Every game check Scotty lost would be added to the available cap. I think Teemu will sign for about $1.4 million and have incentives in the contract. No matter what he does, he just has to fit under this year's cap because I'm pretty sure Teemu wont be back next year either way. Burke has also said that when these guys come back, he's not pulling this s*** next year. He told Scott and Teemu theyve both earned this hospitality and opportunity one time. Good will doesnt extend that far. He said theyd have to tell him before UFA deadline next year. I personally think Teemu and Scott are done after this year, no matter the outcome. We can replace Teemu and Scott next year with our guys in the minors with another year of experience under their belts (namely Bobby Ryan, #2 behind Crosby, for forwards, and Brian Salcido can be brought up into the Defensive ranks and move Schneider with Beauchemin) Burke also told Teemu to save his decision until after the All-Star Game. Burke told Teemu's agent that if he makes a decision during All-Star weekend he will "wring his neck." Him being Teemu I love Burkie

    1/23 GDT: Red Wings 2, Anaheim 1

I think I've seen Progner fight about 4 times (including last night) since he's been here. One against Pittsburgh and Dallas last year, and LA and Detroit this year. The Pitt one was someone was hitting kunitz while he was down and Pronger came flying in with an uppercut and took out the guy. Dallas was pretty evenly matched size wise, which Prongs won. LA was against Handzus because he shot the puck at Jiggy like 3 secs after the whistle (that added a little fuel to the budding fire of the rivalry) and then against Cleary. But of all the fights I believe Cleary was the only guys demonstratively shorter than Prongs. Everyone else was about his size... and its not like Pronger singled Cleary out. He agreed to fight him so, I don't think its too fair to put in all on Prongs.

Red Wings Take Beating, Walk Away With Win

I'm so glad there are rational Wings fans out there. It's restored my faith in your fan base. Over a seven game series (go ahead call me a homer or look at it unbiased) I think the Ducks' play would wear on the Wings and the Ducks would win in 6 or 7. Almost every Ducks/Wings series from now on will probably be similar to last year's West Finals. Ducks or Wings in 6 or 7. I believe it would be the Ducks, and most of you would believe it would be the Wings. Thats how it goes, and how it will go.

hm... nice. Thanks I was in the stands. From my vantage point, It looked like he beat the ever-livin' hell out of him. I havent seen the replay yet. either way. There was blood. and swelling. and purple Cleary got effed up.

Hey I'm sorry if I rubbed some of you guys the wrong way earlier. I was just having a little fun with some opposing fans in pre-game. We all do it. Also, I just really hate hearing that old Disney-joke re-run in any forum I'm on when I talk about the Ducks. I respect the Wings. I do. You're a great team with a great history that the Ducks are no where near at this point. It happens when you have 75 years more experience at this thing. I've just never taken the Ducks as a joke. I'm turning 18 on February 9th (and I'll be in Detroit for the game on the 10th) and the Ducks have really been the only team I've known in my life. I've been going to games since I was 3 years old. This team is a huge part of my life. We've had season tix every year the Ducks have been in existence. Thats why I feel so much for this team. And the series we've had with the Wings recently and overall have made me grow a sort of passion against your Wings. But thats good. I love a good, mean-spirited rivalry. I'm sorry if I bleed Orange/Black/Gold (or Jade/Eggplant/Gray) but its just me. I love this team with all my soul. So most trash talk I can take. The we're goons crap or Pronger's gap or any of that. But the whole Disney/cartoon thing. Thats been long over. I am a Duck! and damn proud of it.... All that aside now. The game. I was there and my god it was intense. That was probably the best 1st period we've played all year. Bertuzzi getting into it early and Pronger beatin the ever-livin' out of Cleary (did he ever come back by the way? I wasnt looking for him). Tough and hard fought all around. If not for a few dumb penalties by the Ducks and that broken stick by Beauchemin, it's 0-0 in OT where its all up to the hockey gods and how they determine the game be won. I wouldve gladly taken that hard-earned point and the tie for 1st in the Division. That said, I was really impressed with Detroit and the way we played against you. Great puck movement, control and speed. But in my personal opinion, If we were to meet in the playoffs in a best of 7, I think the Ducks size and strength and determination would eventually wear down on the Wings. It would probably be similar to the Western Finals last year. Either team in 6 or 7. But over a long series, I give the advantage to the Ducks. Overall great game. See you in February at the Joe. Go Ducks!

One of those eh? How bout Teemu Selanne, Scott Niedermayer, JS Giguere? I'm sure theres no consideration for the Hall there. and Jarri Kurri played for us in either 1996 or 1997 I can't recall recall. I'm pretty sure he's in the Hall. I'm also pretty sure Babcrock coached us to Game 7 of the Finals too... So to all you naysayers, yes the Mighty Ducks were named after a Disney movie. But if you ever go to the Pond, we've erased every shred of Disney that used to be there. The only thing that remains are the 93 Inaugual Season and 02-03 Western Champs banners with the Mighty logo on it. I'd probably say we're a legitimate team at this point. Consistent winning seasons. 2 Western Championsips. 1 Pacific Championship. 1 . Whatever, I wont convince you, but umm 02-03 SWEEP, 06-07 Defeat. Oh and GO PRONGER! And also Conway and Banks never played for the Mighty Ducks. They played for the District 5 Ducks, Team USA, and the Eden Hall Warriors JV squad.

I have been waiting on this won (did I misspell that? Nah don't think so ) But seriously, this will be a hard fought game tonight. I doubt you guys really expended that much energy against the Queens last night. Both teams will be up and ready for this game for sure. I'll be there in my usual seat in THE POND (It's not the Ponda. God, how that bothers me when people call it that) "Mighty" Anaheim Ducks: 4 Detroit Dead Things: 2 It'll be a great game for sure. It'll be great to see all the Red Kings fans there tonight as well. Go Ducks! oh and BEWARE of the... Let's have a good clean fight.... LETS GET IT ON!

    All-Star Game Roster Update

I sense some sour grapes in the crowd Honestly, Perry deserves it. He's 22 years old and is 8th in the league in goals. His success is linked to Getzlaf and vice versa. Much like Kariya and Selanne of the old Mighty Ducks. They need to be in it together. As for Niedermayer, I'm happy another Duck is in, but like you guys, I agree that there are more deserving candidates out there.

    Ducks

Whoever did the projection that we will end up with 94 points based on the whole season thus far, sure that makes sense. But like I and Duck Guy have said, this is a completely different team these last 17 games. Over with my colleagues at AllDucks.com, we've done our own mathematical projections based on this last run that puts the Ducks at about 126 pts and the Wings with about 142 once its all said and done. Now thats a little unrealistic. It's hard to imagine any team going 12-3-2 every 17 games the rest of the way. Now, if the Ducks stay healthy and play this well consistently for the rest of the season, they can easily finish with over 100 points. The Pacific will be up for grabs between Anaheim, Dallas, and San Jose down the stretch. That Getzlaf, Perry, and Bertuzzi line is absolutely on fire lately. Getzlaf himself has a 14 game point streak (3rd longest in club history to only Selanne's 15 and 17 game streaks). Getzlaf is 8th in the league in Points. 4th in +/- in the league. Perry leads the team with 26 goals. Their size, strength, and skill make them very hard to handle down low. And they are always crashing the net. Defense is solid, as has been already discussed by myself and several others. And people that mention the McDonald/Weight trade. It's worked out a lot better for both teams. Last year, Andy Mac (a speedy playmaking forward) had a legend in Teemu Selanne on his one wing and a fiesty speedy Kunitz on the other. When the Ducks brought in Bertuzzi, Andy was our 1st line center and Bertuzzi was expected to take Teemu's spot up there. As both teams know, Bert does't have a real premium on speed. Coach Carlyle tried many different combos but Mac and Bert never clicked. Mac needs a quick sniper to play along side with. Thats how it was in before 03 with Kariya and how it was with Selanne these past 3 years. Now that he's back with Kariya he's flourishing. Same can be said with Weight. He wasnt having a great season in St. Louis and wasn't really meshing in their system. Now, that he's here. His physical style and his linemates (whether it be Kunitz, Bobby Ryan, Bochenski, or Bertuzzi from time to time) push their way into open areas and he uses his great vision and puck control to get it to them. The Ducks have been scoring in bunches lately and the defense has been playing like the Cup team last year. Jiggy has played extemely well as of late, more so than he had earlier in the year. The Ducks will definitely be a tough team to contend with down the road. Like I've seem a few of you say, the Ducks are built for the playoffs. I'm real excited for Wednesday's game to see where the new reincarnation of the Anaheim Ducks stacks up with the currently undisputed Western juggernaut at this point that is the Red Wings. P.S. chrisdetroit, It's Niedermayer not Neidemeir. And the past for him isnt all that long ago. He is still one of the premiere defensemen in the NHL today. And personally, I'd say 4 Stanley Cup rings are a big deal. And as for aging players, the only guy I pointed out was Chelios. It's hard to deny that Cheliosauras is old. And as I said up top, Weight and Bertuzzi are no slouches at this point. They are producing points quite well. Schneider too. He had a heck of a slap shot against Dallas on Sunday for the first goal. Top-shelf through the screen.

What's up everybody? New on the board. Ducks fan since 93. Season ticket holder since 93. OC resident. anyways I'm going to the Ducks/Wings game on February 10th at the Joe for my 18th birthday. I wanted to see the Ducks players after a potential morning skate or on their way into the arena for the game. I'm pretty sure it's a 1:00 PM start. Basically, I was wondering when/where the visiting players enter the arena? I wanted to get some autographs and just give them some support on the road. It's the longest trip of the season for us. 8-game, 15-day roadie. It gets tough out there, as you know. Also, my grandfather is taking me and he constantly is telling me that its not a good idea to wear my jersey and cheer for the Ducks fervently like I do at home. Now I've been to games in LA and San Jose. The worst was San Jose, I got beer poured on me just for cheering when the Ducks scored. Anyways. We're sitting in the lower bowl on the Ducks attacking end and was wondering if any of that would really be that much of a problem? I'm still going to cheer and whatnot. I just need to know the right level of cheering to keep my grandfather sane and my clothes clean because we're going to the airport directly after the game. Sorry, rambling a bit. But, yeah. Any of that info would be much appreciated. Thanks. (BTW I dont normally talk this formal. Just not wanting to be flamed out for just being a Ducks fan. I'm tryin to be civil. Thanks.)

I'm pretty sure I can skip on the bracelet and the salon. But yeah, I'll try and explain the finer points in hockey to some of them. I have to do that a little too much here in Anaheim. You know how annoying it is to have people yell "SHOOT" everytime someone touches the puck in the offensive zone? Or for every and any hit or any time someone falls onto the ice to hear the whole place chant "Ref you suck"? (sometimes its deserved. But not for every sort of contact ) Or to have people stand up every time that its like 4 on 3 going into the zone? Anyways. Thanks for all your help guys.

    Ducks

Most of the stats for this season before 12/16 (addition of Weight/Scotty) I am personally throwing out. Before all that includes the London trip which absolutely destroyed them mentally and physically and the "Cup Hangover," and I know that you all know that the first part of any season following a Cup win is always a little tough. So coming off a short summer to go play 9 time zones away and then come 3 days after to go on a 3 game road trip in which every game was a home opener, really took a toll. Anyways Since that date, this Ducks team has looked worlds different than the one that started the season. They are looking confident and looking like they've regained the swagger they played with for a majority of last season. 12-3-2 since then. Im still amazed that a team that was 15-15-4 at one point had vaulted themselves into 1st in the division, 2nd in the conference, and 3rd in the league (That Dallas game yesterday was an abomination. That was one of those that you take and immediately put behind you, because it was just that bad. Just a blip on the radar). I think that the Ducks are still the team to beat in the West besides the Red Wings. I'm really looking forward to this game on Wednesday to gauge where we really are in relation to the goal we want to achieve, Repeat. I'm convinced that we are perfectly fine division wise, it's the bigger things I'm worried about. And BTW Teemu Selanne is going to make a decision within the next week or so on whether he'll be back or not. He's been skating in full gear and a Ducks practice uniform by himself at the Ducks practice facility which is 30-50 minutes (depending on traffic) away from his house in Coto de Caza. I dont think someone goes out of their way that much to not comeback, but thats just my feeling. As for our defensemen. I've watched a few Wings game this year but not enough to rank your guys besides Lidstom, Rafalski, and the aging Cheliosauras. Here's my rankings for the Ducks D-men. 1. Niedermayer - 4 Cups, nuff said. Arguably one of the best defensemen of all time. Definitely the most decorated (overall not just Norris trophies). He's won every major championship a Canadian player can win. 2. Pronger - Long reach, physical, one hell of a slap shot, and a nasty disposition (a trait most Ducks fans have come to love ) 3. Schneider - you guys know him, quick, makes mostly good decisions. Extremely good offensively. Most defensive mistakes he makes he makes up for by getting back into position quickly. 4. Huskins - most Ducks fans mark him as a poor-man's Scott Niedermayer. He's good positionally. Makes most plays with his stick. He's not afraid to carry the puck up-ice himself and bring it down low. He also just makes smart plays every time he has the puck. He's 14th in the NHL with a +14 rating. 2nd on the Ducks to Getzlaf. He's really a lot better than most of you are giving him credit for. 5. O'Donnell - Good positionally, physical some weird decisions from time to time, but he goes unnoticed for the most part, which is a good thing for D-men in my book. 6. Beauchemin - He's good, don't get me wrong. But early this season when he wasn't with Scott, he didnt look as comfortable or as smooth as he had the past 2 years. He's ok defensively. He makes some really good decisions and then some really bad ones. Most of his mistakes are saved because he has Scotty by his side. Has really good offensive upside. 7. DiPenta - There's not too much I can say, except he makes the safe play everytime. He's not amazing in any certain facet of the game. But he's a safe defenseman. He's kinda gotten lost in the shuffle once Nieds returned. I think he's been a healthy scratch since then. It's really too bad considering Carlyle loved Joey "DiPendable." He would love to play the guy but theres just noot a spot at this point. Plus he skates funny. Thats my take See you in May

Hahaha yeah for sure. I usually am loud. Hell, theyre on the road. Far from home in Detroit, so I'll go no holes barred. I was going to wear this cape that I had fashioned together out of the orange fowl towels we get during the playoffs. During the Finals last year, I had put a Stanley Cup made out of duct tape on the back. So I was going to go all out and wear that but my grandpa said nooooo way hahaha. I was kinda disappointed, but then again I'm probably just bringing that out for the playoffs/Finals. I'm still gonna bring it for potential autographs, so they can sign that. I'm also going to bring a fowl towel to wave around. So for anyone going to the game on Feb. 10th, I'll be the dude in Section 126 with the Getzlaf #15 Ducks jersey and the fowl towel. Thanks guys
