your basing fedorov's 954 points in 13 seasons to yzerman's 1700+ pts in 22 seasons and howes pts to the million seasons he played. he's over a point a game with the wings, and if he never left the wings, his offense wouldn't have dipped like it has on the jackets and with some more seasons left he'd be right up there. look at his playoff stats, again over a point a game, no many can say that in the history of the nhl's playoffs. isn't he top 3 in assists all time or something like that. and your comparing larionov to fedorov. i'm sorry even if i weren't a fedorov fan, i wouldn't agree with any of the points you just made and i don't wanna argue with a fellow wing fan.

well come on now, we can't compare yzerman and fedorov, yzerman stayed 22/23 years in detroit and let's face it, he's the face of the red wings along with howe. there's always discussion for everything though.

points are everything my man, i've already stated his point racking days are over. he's more of a defensive players, watch the bluejackets, he's back deep before the defensmen are sometimes. he also has played on multiple lines this year including jared boll, curtis glencross to name some, not exactly offensive powerhouses. sergei has a role on the jackets and it's not to be a 100pt man, it's to be responsible even strength and quaterback the power play. his minus 4 rating also has to do with the youngsters he's playing with. give him a break and don't use his pt total against him. he's still an amazing player. by the way he did have 31 goals with the ducks his 1st season there, then got injured and got traded to the jackets, one of the worst offensive teams in the league without question.

i'm new to the site as of today and just realized there was a fedorov # retiring forum previously made a while back, sorry, but hopefully we'll continue this one. i brought it up because of a rumor the wings could be interested in bringing him back soon this season.
-
thank you gmr, you didn't vote though did you? get a 4 up there for "yes"
-
oh sorry i put the topic in the wrong forum, anyway i understand alot of fans are angry with him, that's understandable. he didn't do it all for money, the offer sheet, yeah i'll agree that sucked but ya know they're are agents who make money on their client making money. i think if it were in front of you too on the table you might be talked into signing it too. let's say marc savard comes to detroit, do they let him use #91 even though fed's number isn't retired? this sucks, where are the fedorov supporters, don't be shy! ha. i honestly think sergei regrets leaving detroit and wishes he was back, although i can't read his mind.

i was just mentioning shanny, because he left too and he had a great career while with the red wings, not that he should have his # retired just relating to how fans should be upset with him too.i also want to mention that fedorov took his entire salary in 97-98 after the holdout and started the Sergei Fedorov foundation which still provides to kids in the michigan area. So he didn't do it all for the money. i agree in a way they wouldn't think about retiring his number unless he retired as a wing, and i think if sergei did come back then fans would quickly accept him back and he would go out on a great note.
-
ok fair enough but seems your vote goes more towards spite than what he's done for the wings. If he came back and had zero points but retired a wing would he then get your vote simply cause he finished in a wings uniform? The numbers are stellar, I honestly don't think he needs to prove anymore. Yes i understand fans are upset with him for leaving, are fans upset with Shanahan? i honestly don't know, i don't live in detroit. clearly i'm for his # being retired so you will all see that come across in my replies but thanks for replying, cause this isn't about my opinion alone.
-
no disrespect to red kelly, but the guy never had a 20 goal season as a red wing. i'm gonna start a forum in the general section the subject of retiring fedorov's number. thanks though thanks for replying so far, i'm glad people still have love for fedorov.

wow that was deep. i saw that negativaty coming though, but i think if they bring feds back red wings fans will welcome him
-
thoughts? i mean i'm interested to know how red wings fans would feel about him coming back, would you welcome him, would the boo's stop? see i'm in the philly area, so i don't really know how he's portrayed in the detroit area, i only know from hearing him being boo'd when he goes back to play at the joe. how do you feel fedorov's legacy will be as a red wings when he retires? i'm open to discuss anything related i just dont' want it to get nasty.
