Yeah Holland has his work cut out for him this off season. We've now lost 3 of our top 4 D-men in the last 2 off seasons and have only gained white and quincey. Suter is a must, but we're gonna need a second strong D-man to be brought in as well.

So, does everyone think they will instantly retire his number like they did with Stevy's and have a big NIck Lidstrom night next season?

I don't think 2 is fair, but I agree it shouldn't be 6 at this point. The problem is, we're paying Big E 3.25 a season and while he improved some towards the end of the season and playoffs, he still can't stand in the shadow of Nick.

Osgood also had a cup as a starter already at this age. I don't think Jimmy is horrible or anything but he just doesn't seem to have that knack for good timing. He's given up bad goals at TERRIBLE times in the last two games. Sure, the defense hasn't been great at all times but that's why we have a goalie behind them.

Yeah, he was quite injured...He missed, what the first 20+ games I think it was of the next season after surgery. Franzen is completely healthy and sucking....but most the team is right now, so I can't single him out, but just in the case of Hossa vs. Franzen, the Hoss was the way to go. I'd give up Flip and Mule at this point if we could have had Hossa. Horses***. Stevens stayed on his feet. Torres jumped int hossa's chin.

I don't see this as being true because whether he plays again or not will have a significant effect on what moves we make due to the money he will tie up or free up. He'll have to make his decision before Kenny goes shopping.

Lidstrom needs to shoot the puck. He has gone too far with the slap-pass and purposely wide shots. I get that it works sometimes, but so does putting it on net. The only problem with this team is effort. If they play 60 minutes, they'd be nearly unstoppable. An entire game of how the last 25 minutes of this one went would not be something any team could handle.

I'm guessing no. If it wasn't serious, he wouldn't have gone to the hospital, they could of stitched up a minor cut in the locker room. I'd say there's a good chance he's out the rest of the playoffs if something similar to what happened to modano happened to him.

I personally thought Rinne was pretty shaky actually. A lot of luck helped the score stay that way. There were a lot of shots he juggled or gave up huge rebounds on and just mis-read in general. I have no doubt we'll take them next game,

Is this from the standard championship dvd? I think I have the special edition one and it's just the entire finals series without all the cool highlights/commentary. I have the one from 2002 that is like this and it's amazing.

yeah it was kind of weird, my only thought, is that he thought they'd call a penalty shot which is an automatic goal when the net is empty, therefore creating the same outcome, but I agree, it seemed odd to watch Nicklas Lidstrom just kind of give up on a play.

They're saying he had a neck injury and it's healed...yet he's still not 100%, so it just goes back to the concussion thing. Sure they missed the neck injury, but it still seems to me that the concussions were the real problem, unless I'm completely missing something.

because the winter classic is about taking the game back to it's roots and it is largely a canadian game.

For people saying, he's better resting, you're really crazy. It's the all star game, it's nothing that drains energy. It's probably quite nice for them having tons of fans go wild over all of them and get to take place in some neat events, especially for guys like Howard where it would be his first time. He'd probably love it and I don't think one period of play will really be too draining, now would it?. For Lidstrom, I can get if he'd wanna relax, since he's done it so many times, the specialness of it has most likely worn off some, but it'd be great for Howie, especially as a write in, do you know how great that would feel if he knew his fans backed him that strongly?

I think it would be stupid if minnesota wore the north stars jerseys as it is not part of their franchise history.
