There is a rivalry but I think it's just between the fans now more than anything.... people want to make it out to be something that it no longer is. IMO... As far as McLellan being a coach to the avs I say more power to him. With a good coach like Babcock behind the bench it's the only way he'll ever truly have a chance at head coach... I know the wings fans might not like the idea of him coming to the avs but I think the avs can use the coaching talent right now. He's not being a traitor, he's just trying to better himself and his career, imo.

that's how it seemed when we went to the game last month @ the Joe.. it was loud when goals were being scored, when there's a good hit or scoring opportunity. Otherwise, people are paying attention to the game. Just because someone's not loud doesn't mean that they're not a true hockey fan or don't love their team. When I'm at an avs game I don't scream and yell the entire time. I just do it at the opportune moments (and I like NOT losing my voice!) Summary: the person who wrote this article is in fact, a dumbass.

then it was a blessing in disguise for avs fans since he's gone now. I would have loved to see the avs go further, but if losing the series made them wake up and make some changes then I say "SO BE IT!"

no, he's going to take time over the Summer with this family to decide whether or not he wants to play another season. I am reallllly hoping that he does! Either way, whenever he decides to retire it's gonna be tough to see him go.

I think that you would always hear this to some extent from the fans of the trailing team... however, I think that you'll find after talking to a majority of avs fans you will find that we think you guys won fair and square. But, of course there's always the exceptions. Sometimes the mods do act like dictators on the avs boards, but I never recall seeing some of these things you're talking about (which doesn't necessarily mean it's not true) I just didn't see it.

Just as I suspected, this was an rumor and nothing ever became of it... there are stupid ass fans for every team but I had a feeling that avs fans would have more class than to vandalize someone else's property! I would have been very ashamed if this would have happened ...

I noticed the same thing at game 4 and was very disappointed to see a lot of fans leaving! Oh well, there's always gotta be some crappy fans for every team right? When it was 4-1 I knew it was pretty hopeless but I wasn't about to give up on them no matter how bad it looked. I can definitely say that it seemed like the game lasted forever! It was really tough to watch my guys lose! And get swept nonetheless! I cheered for them until the bitter end and applauded them as the thanked the crowd for their support. As my husband and I walked out of the Pepsi Center he had a lot of avs fans say "good luck in the 3rd round" or they would simply nod their head and smile (he was wearing his Lidstrom jersey). I have to give it up to the wings, they are just looking so strong this year and we simply couldn't match them this year. They pretty much outplayed us in every category. Since my boys are out, I will be cheering for the wings to go all the way!

I don't think this is his last year, but in the event that it is I am going to miss him! What an awesome player!

I hope after this year we can rid ourselves of Q... if you go roaming thru the avs boards you'll find plenty of avs fans who want him gone.

I have to apologize in advance for these idiots that call themselves avs fans... it really pisses me off when people act like that because then it affects everyone's opinions of the avs fans. There are ****** fans for every team, I know that... and I think a little playing around and just a little trash talk is ok and expected, but when people start getting physical and violent that's when the line has been crossed.

you're right, there were a lot of wings fans at the game in December... I don't really think they outnumbered avs fans but I was certainly surprised to see a ton of wings fans. My husband and I will be at game 4, sitting in 332 row 11 (I believe) I will be wearing my avs jersey and of course the hubby will be wearing a wings jersey. It's going to be an interesting night!
