Ridiculous. Just ridiculous. No breaks for the Wings? More like false calls for the Wings.
-
I don't care who you are. Luongo's pads looks insabely big....GOAAALLLLLL!!!! IRONYYYYY!!!
-
Same ref crew that worked last nights game. These Canadian teams have cheap shots all abound.
-
Here's to a fair game!
-
Osgood also looked hurt in the 2nd. Let's hope it was nothing serious. Same thing with Downey. I didn't see Downey skating a lot after that fall he had. That hit Phaneuf made on Kopecky could have been a lot worse. That was horrible.
-
I think the offense will click more tonight. Detroit has always been pretty good against Vancouver. Wings win this one. Hope Chelios does not have a fracture.
-
Just heard Bacock on RWL say about Cheli "Yeah we don't really know. We think it's a little bit of a fracture but it might be a pain tolerance thing." Babcock always undershoots it.
-
Fracture. Fahk Fahk Fahk!
-
I can't wait until trade deadline day is here and gone!
-
That's almost as bad as mentioning Zednik. Plus, they are announcers.
-
Not...used..to seeing Wings with offensive problems.
-
Sometimes this hockey is too ridiculous to watch. The refs are biased and the Flames are playing really dirty. That double hit from Neidermayer and Pronger on Holmstrom last year. The hissy fit the Flames through last year in the playoffs. Why don't they fight like men like the old Colorado rivalry??
-
Wow, great reffing. So fun.
-
Our offence is crippled.
-
Send Downey out to destoy Phaneuf. Where is McCarty. I want Holifield
-
Screw the flames. I hate this team.
-
Those Flames are playing dirty. They always have. Making something intentional look like a mistake? I wouldn't doubt it.
-
Cheli has a left leg bruze. It's probable he won't be back. Andreas Lilja with the most experience Daniels says with a chuckle.

With the trade deadline coming up, it is still uncertain. Anaheim has 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks to use. They will pick someone up at the deadline. Will Detroit be able to counter? When the playoffs hit, will Detroit have the determination and size to make it out of the west? Will they be able to come back from a tough overtime loss or withstand a bad call? Will Detroit be able to out-wit their opponent? I feel the Wings do not have that 'craziness' necessary to defeat an Anaheim decisively. IMO the Wings might not pull out of the west. It is possible that Dats and Z will be neutralized. Also, secondary scoring from players like Hudler and Flip will be predictable could be easily neutralized. Injuries are inevitable especially with how big western teams are. While it's possible Detroit can win it with a few flukey goals, I think the odds are against those kind of goals in the playoffs. What ingredients do the Wings need to win? ESPN article on Detroit ***EDIT: Can should be will! "Will Detroit win the cup," sounded too definite at this point. Obviously can isn't definite enough!

Here's an article on MLive discussing the ESPN 'Wings-Patriots' article at the beginning of this thread. Link At the end it says: Detroit Red Wings: General manager Ken Holland is looking at every possibility of landing a big scorer because Holland always looks at every possibility. He's made overtures for most of the premium players, but Holland is saying he also doesn't want to give up his future for a rental player. He believes he has enough depth to be a quality team for a few years if he doesn't trade it away. The Red Wings will look at defensive depth, but that's a lower priority than a scorer. That scorer's name won't be Hossa or Sundin, either. That puts another thorn in the Sundin and Hossa rumors.
-
I agree. I think he will add some spark to the team. He's one of those guys that feeds off the pressure and intimidation and gets better from it. Plus, he's played with Kiprusoff and knows how he plays if we should play Calgary in the playoffs.
-
Hope this isn't a bad thread. I'm just wondering what you think it will take out of our current players to win it. Maybe this will convince us the team is good enough as is or we need to go out and make a big trade for insurance against injury.
-
True, it made him rich but that's not my point. He sold everyone's privacy in the process. If I had a penny for every arguement that stupid site has gotten me in over the years, well, I'd be rich too. Yeah, if Anaheim gets one of the big names at the deadline and Detroit doesn't. I will have a sick feeling in my stomach. Hudler and Flip will have to improve their game.

Great job CaliWingsNut Here is yet another reiteration that the Wingsgate 08' is bogus Mlive "Myth: Valtteri Filppula said on his Facebook page that he'd been traded from Detroit to Atlanta in a deal for Marian Hossa. Truth: It was a fake. Filppula has contacted the Red Wings front office to alert them that somebody is using his name on Facebook. Actually, it's fairly common for people to do that, which is pretty scary. More than one of the Thrashers has said people have used their names online, and had conversations with friends and families posing as them. Hey, that's a story." Once again proving Facebook is retarded and that Harvard alumni aren't superior beings bound to run the world. (Burke and the creator of Facebook went to Harvard)

Haha. Yeah me too. EDIT: false info
