pronger is also a really talented playe, let's not boo him either. If they aren't wearing red and white, they may as well be wearing a Nazi flag, meaning you're enemy #1

Report: Hossa turns down Wings' offer

Wooooo! Goodbye hossa. Shoulda offered that lazy deuche 2 mill. He only mixed up chemistry and defensive priority on a Stanley cup defending team. Well write you from the conference finals against Calgary!

    To Z

Just wanted to say thanks for laying it all on the line...using every gallon of gas you had this playoffs. I've been undecided which Wings jersey I was going to buy (as I'm a broke student) but seeing Z laying out on the goal crease, crashing the net. Back checking, hitting, blocking shots, scoring. It was a heroic effort and IMO the best of the team this postseason. Great effort, keep it the amazing work. Seeyou in next years cup final.

How sad are you at the moment?

oh and ps- i got about 100 phone calls when the final buzzer went to rub it in.... yet when they won... i got none... funny thing being an outta town fan... I'm buying a Winter Classic Zetterberg jersey because he won my heart over this playoffs...he showed the most hunger and sacrifice

How sad are you at the moment?

Im really sad... I wanna drink myself to sleep. I think I'm most upset because it didnt feel like the wings wanted it. it was like "if we win it great, if not, well we won it last year" and that makes me so sad. b/c i would kill to compete for a game 7 cup final

    Marian Hossa Discussions

Hossa has been brutal. I've watched the entire playoffs and I'm still disapointed with him. He looks unmotivated, which is odd considering he's got the opportunity of a lifetime. I hope he isn't resigned in the off season. I haven't been impressed with him. I don't care if he has assists in this series, we paid him 7.5million to score goals, and he isn't doing that. I don't understand how people can still defend him after this abysmal series he's having, you think he would be hungier than a hippo to prove to his former team he made the right choice. I haven't seen him take the puck to the net since Game 4 against Chicago, and that's his bread and butter. He's a strong skater, hard to knock off the puck, so why is he playing perimeter hockey? Yes, guys are on him like flies, but they're also all over Z and he always finds a way, cause he's determined to be a champion. Hossa, simply isn't at this point.

Sidney Crosby Signs w? AC Milan

Due to Sidney Crosby's extraordinarily amazaing divnig talents it's no surpirse that many european soccer teams are currently scouting the youngster as a potential free agent, franchise penalty kick drawer. David Beckham weighed in on the topic: "Seriously, as a fan of soccer, and respector of amazing divers both olympic and professionaly, I feel Sidney Crosby would be a huge addition to our roster. I could probably score about 15-20 more goals per year with the extra penalty kicks my team would recieve." After this comment a war of words broke out amongst protestors. "Do you think Sid dives on purpose to gain attention to himself, possibly to draw reason to his philosphical bitching every game and play he is and snt involved with???" "YES" answered Datsyuk who has yet to play a game in this series. "Basically, I havent seen such an utter disregard for character since the Cuban missle crisis."

What Should Babcock Do With Hossa?

Trade him for the guy from the Dos Equis commercial, AKA the most interesting man in the world.

    What's Up with Datsyuk

He can't seem to get any pucks to the net.... Hurt? Holding the Stick too tight? Trying to do too much? I mean, zero goals in the last 6 games? Something has gotta give...This isn't very Datsyukian! and we could sure use him to show up for Game 7.

WCSF GAME 6 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Ducks 2

Anybody else seeing this tonight? Sloppy passes, soft traffic. I don't know...ANA just went up 2-0 and DET is looking seriously lackluster tonight. Disapointing performance with a chance to punch a ticket to the Conference Finals.
  17. This is one of the things that bugs me the most about the NHL. Anaheim mucks through a regular season, half unconscious, slips into a playoff seed, and turns on the jets. Now, they have the possibility of knocking off two teams that had 26 more points than them, (SJ), and another team that had 21 more points than them, (DET). If the format resembled something like baseball, OR, something like football with a wild card, teams who don't even deserve to have a shot against superior teams (throughout the season) wouldn't occur. Either way, I still love the Stanley Cup playoffs, I love how its a grind, that's what makes it the hardest trophy to win. BUT What is the regular season worth when teams can take games off? Nill.

NHL Playoffs need to be shorter with less teams

    yeah i understand

NHL Playoffs need to be shorter with less teams

I understand that I'm just sick of seeing teams like columbus come out to get slaughtered in round 1. it's embarrassing for them and for wasting detroits time. I wanna jump right into the best vs. the best. the meat of the action I suppose anaheim IS one of the best in the west, they just don't deserve to be playing in this post season. Flat out, the regular season needs to mean something and right now, it doesn't mean enough.

NHL Playoffs need to be shorter with less teams

Yeah I understand what you're saying, and I agree, it does make it exciting. The problem is is that over HALF of each conference makes the playoffs, thats a little ridiculous. Maybe I'm just too used to cheering for a team that is always top3 in the conference.
  21. cboth686

NHL Playoffs need to be shorter with less teams

Neither, I'm serious. You're not kidding that you like seeing 8th seeded teams play half hearted all year to be rewarded with a shot at lord stanley

    Is Anaheim Detroit's kryptonite?

I'm beginning to wonder if this is a mental thing with the Wings. I KNOW most of the players are different through the last few series with the Ducks, but Detroit never seems to be able to put the hammer down when it's needed most with Anaheim. I think the wings have much, much, more skill, but somehow ANA mucks through games and beats Detroit. If Detroit can't pull this off, this could haunt them for awhile. What do you think, honestly, can they still win this series?

    Where is Hossa?
