your salary cant drop more than a certain percentage i think. like i remember leaf fans were grumbling about how sundin needed to wave his clause to help the team, then when he didnt wave it, they said he should resign for league minimum in the summer to help the team with its cap problems, but he cant drop from whatever it is he is making (6 or 7 million) to .5 mil or whatever, because it breaks some rule

im pretty sure edmonton was the closest of those 3 to making the playoffs last year and they got visnovsky and cole now plus others.. kk maybe edmonton

Where did you get McCarty from? I think he's a good role player but I have no man love for him at all, i wouldn't call myself a Mac fan at all. And i am just saying if you are going to start a thread like this maybe be open to opinion? i think val's goal was nice but it was a fairly generic forehand deke, if you are going to be excited about a forehand deke maybe datsyuks huge toedrag goal on turco is the way to go? idk i just don't understand what makes this goal so special

i think every other example thats been posted in this thread is more visually pleasing than val's goal... so pretty much we can't beat you and we give up, great debate though even though you aren't really going to hear our argument, because in your mind val's was the best?

echolalia: if im not mistaken, meech did not play in the AHL this year because of his 1 way contract. so that means he spent all year with the twings. that means practicing everyday, travelling everywhere with the team, filling in when they needed him, being a good locker room presence and he was like 10 games shy of the minimum. cut me a break this guy deserves his name on the cup easily. imagine you worked for a company and you played a smaller role in this company, but chipped in when they needed you, did what you could to make sure everything worked out, etc. but then you didn't get a christmas bonus/vacation/whatever.

joshy is probably right... he probably got #56 in training camp and kept it for the first couple weeks, then when it became clear he made the squad he switched to #13

i would give it to kopecky and let helm run train down in GR, but helm is obviously the first guy called up if there is an injury or anything. dont forget about mac and downey though, they will be competing for spots as well.
