up until this season i was sort of a kronwall hater. he had never impressed me really, yeah a few nice open ice hits but i was worried he would hurt himself doing that. you can tell now that he is going to be an important player for years to come. cheli is getting old, lebda and lilja cant log that much ice time, other than lids and rafalski he has been our best guy on the blue line this year. him and stuart would make a lovely 2nd pairing for years to come if you ask me.

I agree Roy had incredible longevity, but if I had to choose either goalie to have on my team I would take Marty over Roy any day. It's not just because of the Wings-Avs rivalry, I just never liked Roy as a person, I don't think he is a good person, his cockiness always bothered me. Marty is a walking encyclopedia, he knows every sharp-shooters preference in the league and has incredible amounts of skill.

I remember a thread at the beginning of the season about the first line of Franzen - Datsyuk - Holmstrom and people were ranting about them because they tore it up in the preseason I'm pretty sure some people had him pegged as the rocket richaurd winner on this forum. I figured 20 would be his minimum (until he got hurt)

I actually like the Coyotes and their organization aside from shelfing the Arizona Sting. I want them to make the playoffs anyways. Just as long as Detroit wins the cup they can have as much success as possible in my mind.

I think its been said by the NHL that even if its only intent they will still punish the criminal because they dont want them to even think about doing it again, Pronger looked like he at least tried to stomp kesler, i was thinking 5 games personally. you're right, its not as clear as everyone is saying, and it is Pronger, so I thought 5 games was what he would get. apparently the NHL has given Pronger immunity.

They go to the arena thinking that its just ice wrestling and big, goofy, canadian men beat each other up. Thats why the fans come back, the Ducks win every match.

I like it! You did a good job. Ducks and Avs left a sour taste in my mouth, but seeing Steve Yzerman made up for it

ahahaha that was good, it made me laugh. But really, like all the interference and grabbing,clutching, dirty hits that Anaheim gives, you think they'd be able to take just a little bit of the same thing back? I guess not

Jokes are usually funny. This isn't. The other night I was watching the PHX-ANA game and i was cheering for PHX the entire game, they ended up winning! but they had to over come so much. a couple of bad call on the coyotes and a couple of missed calls on the ducks. It was just so obvious the NHL is rooting for the Ducks it was gross, the referees were so obviously biased for the ducks. They piss me off so badly

My apologies the way I read it originally was that you were saying that Pronger is dirtier/ more of a goon, I don't know why I thought you meant that. The way I see it is, at least Pronger has a real duty, he is a leader, he is a solid D-man and he plays rough hockey. He is a dirty player. Simon has no reason to be out there other than to intimidate his opponents. He stomps and sticks players in the face just like Pronger, except thats all he is on the ice for.

I was about to say something to the same effect. I've always loved Crosby, he is amazing. It's funny because I'm from Toronto and all the Leaf fans seem to think he is a cry baby? They go home and watch Tucker, McCabe and crew cry their eyes out every night. Even more hypocrisy to add to the pile.

I don't know about any trophies or awards, but I'd say Pav and Hank are probably the best two-way forwards in the game. They are up at the top of the list anyways.

I've been a fan since around '96 or '97 because thats when I was old enough to start watching and understanding hockey roughly. My dad has been a fan since the mid-50's and I suppose that played a small role in them being my favourite team
