Heading into the 3rd we all knew Nashville was going to get all the calls and it would basically be 20 minutes of Predator's powerplay. It's the way the NHL works nowadays. Get used to it.

What is the name of that climactic song at the beginning?
-
The D dilemma Blessing. honestly, any other team in the league wishes they had this much depth at the blue line.
-
Wow, I thought everyone on this site hated him because he isn't Marian Hossa?

Thats my dream. I hate the Leafs with such a burning passion that I could not explain it to you. I hope they lose the 8th seed via some other team beating another team in a shootout just like last year. Christ if any of you saw the game the night before that of Toronto vs. Montreal you will have to agree with me that the refs swung the game huge in the 3rd. The Leafs ended the 2nd and had half the 3rd on a power-play to catch up and win that one. Made me sick to watch. The next day I was at a family get together and we all watched the game (my family being Leaf fans) and they were all tense and hopeful... the Islanders ended up beating the Devils in a shootout for that 8th seed. How excited was I?!

No. We already have Maltby to be an agitator and Downey can fight, or Drake. Sign Cleary long-term please forget about UFA's until we got our own guys locked up.

Huet left the game with back spasms or so I hear

something along the lines of: ...Kenny should have done it. Filppula is a good young talent but he can be replaced. Come free agency we can get Adam Hall, Scrub #2, Scrub#3, etc. etc. something like that anyways, just a general idea.

Andy Pred's post just failed so badly that I don't know if I can carry on. How in the world would that method create parity? If the Wings won the President's Trophy for being the best team in the league and then get the 1st overall pick in the draft, they just get better. Meanwhile, the last placed team - meaning the worst team in the league - gets the last placed pick or 30th overall. That makes the a huge seperation between the best and the worst, it just spreads the gap that much more. I don't know how you could possibly see parity in that scenario.

jim3033, I ask you this: Is a frog's ass water tight?
-
I hope it happens. but the Wings have to start winning some soon, everything has its ups and downs and right now the only place for the Wings to go is up, so its gotta happen!
-
I just lolled at the thought of Havlat even considering a contract worth 1 mil. I don't care what kind of incentives you put on it
-
God you are miserable, you sound like a Leafs fan. Do us all a favor and turn your frown upside down, you are being a party pooper! But in all seriousness you know how spoiled you sound right now? OMG KENNY WE DIDNT GET ____ IN FREE AGENCY!! WAH WAH. its silly. Kenny didnt need to sign anyone, we are 1st in the NHL for a reason, as ARice said, we cut dead weight, our young guys have more experience, we are grittier this year, so hold on tight because it's going to be a good one.

oops... double post sorry, my computer is having a melt down almost as big as leftwinger's!

I don't know why you would say that? It's been a downward spiral for the last month or two for that team. Emery missing practice, Heatley and Alfredssion going down with injuries, acquiring Commodore and Stillman. When Emery missed practice twice in a month everyone was pissed at him. Teammates kind of turned on him from what I can see. Emery has kind of rolled over and hasn't been the same goalie this year. They didn't put that top line together last night from what I saw and I couldn't figure out why. The trade with Carolina seems to have upset some team chemistry or something. Anyway you look at it, they just aren't clicking. Easier to fire one coach than 20some hockey players.

I don't know why people would be upset with Ken Holland. We are the best team in the NHL right now, that alone should be enough to get your respect. I guess Wings fan really are spoiled. I think Sundin was our guy, but he never waived his NTC. I'm happy with our team as it stands right now. Solid Blueline, fairly reliable goalies and a decent 4 lines of forwards. If we don't win the cup this year, will it really hurt more than last year? I doubt it. You still gotta cheer for your team and be happy with what you have. If we don't win it all this year, then I'm sure we can bulk up on July 1st and/or next year's trade deadline. I'm so glad Ken Holland runs this team instead of the whiners I see on this site.

ahaha love your sense of humor

They will have to let someone go eventually. As the cap keeps rising so will the salaries. The elite are making 7-10 million right now, that will go up to like 12 million and beyond eventually, but thats only when the cap is around 58-60 million i would wager. You cannot pay Crosby and Malkin 12-13 million each and expect to get Whitney, Letang, Fleury, Staal, etc.,etc. in under that cap. If they can do it, all the power to them, until then, I cannot see it happening and agree with Nick's thought process, although I think tomorrow is a little too early to be dealing with that problem.
-
I watched it. I agree with what Nick is saying, that they just can't afford all of that talent, but to trade him NOW in 2008 is just silly. At the very least wait until the Summer, but I'm sure they can hold off for a couple more seasons before dumping some salary.

Lol I'm pretty sure we are all kidding in here.

Just listening to the radio and Watters is saying Ottawa, Montreal or San Jose in the Hossa hunt, Red Wings are out of it. He sure changes his mind a lot.
-
I know it was blasphemous, it shook me to my core when I heard it. Watters is a pretty intelligent guy so I thought there was a good chance it would happen...not on Kenny's watch!
-
Yeah, I'm not his biggest fan, but he knows his stuff so you have to take what he says into pretty serious consideration, but no one is perfect right?
-
I know, he is right more than he is wrong, but he had one no-no a couple years back that always reminds me to think twice about what he is saying. He had said with certainty that Detroit was going to trade Zetterberg and Fischer to Toronto for Antropov and Colaiacavo.
-
Watters is hit and miss. Take it with a grain of salt.
