I went to an open practice on March 29th last year. Why not hold one again? They supported a charity and everything.

I can agree. Thus, we I don't waste my time with ESPN. Take a sip of beer anytime they mention a Yankee or BoSox, you'll be out in no time. And the rare times they do choose to cover hockey, there's really not much diversity there either.
-
Hey, I've given up on ESPN for a long time now. I can't stand they way they cover sports. They are bias and their announcers don't know jack about the teams they are covering. FSN was a god sent because they have people who follow the team and know the players. NO mispronouncing names or stating obvious facts for the national TV broadcast. They do they same thing with baseball or when I watch verses or just FOX. For info and stories, I'd just go the the NHL page. This had nothing to do with really with what you had to say or the article, but I wanted to mention it.

Ha, I only own the album that accompanied that slogan as well. ;-) Haha, thanks for posting that.

Dang, that's tight! How do you get that picture?? I want ins! And for the mantle, she's might be worried it won't match the decor. Maybe this calls for all new living room make over... possible with red and walls?

I waste a lot of time on YouTube looking at stuff that gets me nowhere in life such as Wings related junk. I normally don't waste my time watching "tributes" since they normally aren't that great and are poorly done; I was recommended on my homepage for a Yzerman tribute. Hesitant to click (for I believe nothing will ever be greater than the retirement video they did for him), I decided to watch it and give it a try. Maybe it's the fact one of my favorite songs of the 90s was used, or that I can't dislike something dedicated to Yzerman but it pulled some emotions out. It shows a lot of old players and starts with the "struggles" Yzerman and the team had until they finally won in 1997, then in 1998, and 2002. Shows the closeness of the team and just how excited they were along with some great plays. I don't know... I thought this was a well done video and I'd thought I'd share it with everyone. Favorite moments: -2:38 Celebrating Shanny's goal in 2002 -4:27 McCarty and Yzerman in the box looking serious to only break out laughing -4:37 Goal on Roy -4:53 Celebrating winning the cup in 2002 name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>&"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350" />

Actually, I rewatched the ending for a second. Then I realized something, I've seen that video before. I checked and sure enough I commented on it nine months ago! Haha, small world. It's a great video. All them that have been posted have been awesome.

I wanna go back. That was some season. Did you make that video?
-
Wow, that only took forever to load... But I liked it! Good work. It was certainly epic. You didn't waste your time. Although, I wanna forget that press conference - I hated it. Man, and that was painful to watch when he chokes up. Also, I loved the choice of "Here's to the Night". Favorited!

Yeah, as someone who come from a family of stagehands in the video production and broadcasting industry, I have become a bit of a perfectionist and extremely critical; I set high standards. I too would much prefer a video with great music in sync with video instead of a slide show of poorly cropped, blurry pictures with star-wipe transitions. As for the song feature in the video, I was a 90s generation kid and the grunge/alternative rock songs just reminds me of those times which coincidentally is the same decade they won two of the cups. It just adds the sentimental feeling, you know? Helps with nostalgia. I don't know your preference in music but if didn't see the Yzerman retirement video... it was AMAZING. I show people all the time. Not only is is fill with clips of memorable goals but it shows the impact he had on the city and the people. You see his leadership and his great character we all remember. They use two songs by U2, one being "Pride", my favorite. It's funny... back in 2001-2002, I went through a U2 phase and this, as you know, was the same season they won the cup. I later found out they are Yzerman's favorite band. Here's the retirement video. First time I watched it, I teared up. I still get chills to this day.

Meh, he's not so great. ;-)

Okay, any word if there is going to be one soon at the Joe on a Saturday? Last year there was one at the end of march. I feel like someone mentioned it to me before for this season, but I can't recall. Any info? Thanks!

That should be three different commericals. Any help?

I know what you are talking about and I think that I saved them on one of my computers. Where they just Red Wings ones or were they for the NHL or ESPN or something like that? Was one having to do with getting pinched by a lobster or shocked when working on car... if only I could recall. Some were up on YouTube. On another note that's related... I love the one with Draper for 2007, "red shows Rage/red shows passion" so I can quote it in any random situation. But I wanna fight that one that's REALLY old and it only showed hit against the Wings. It was in black and white and had the vocals of Chumbawamba's Tubthumping... back in 1998.

Hey, it's kinda late and all. But is there a steam out tonight of FS Detroit. Being Kirk Maltby's 1000th game, I wanted to watch interviews and junk like that.
-
Thanks, but it keeps freezing my computer!

Or do that... it's not that bad of an idea.

I just got an email from our school talking about the student rush and telling us to take advantage. Call the Joe or Box office and ask if there's any way to hold student rush tickets (reference the email or something, it might help) because I would be very bummed to drive all that way and not get to go.
-
Call the box office about the ID but get there super early and take in count if it's the weekend and which team is playing. Haw far is your hometown now? Wayne State sent an email and you can get the student rush but have to play a extra 5 to secure them (stupid service charge).
-
Ha, forget the song, I want the video. The poses are so funny and cheesy and the clips they have are pretty bad ass.
-
Dude, I did that all that junk too. McCarty came back that weekend, in fact he gave me a smile when we bang on the glass during the warm up, then at the practice he tossed me a puck. Kick ass! But my point is, I have the Cheli's thing recorded on my camera. I'm going to watch that. Too funny!

Fantastic. I'm hearing about this now...

Now my first question... How do you get the passes? I want meet them! -
You know, I'm going to be bias. Yzerman. Why? Cause it was just right. Enough to be a mullet but not too much where it was overdone. He didn't try too hard, like a Bono-wannabe, it just came naturally. It was well kept. Never tangled. It was wan't flat and had great volume. I'm sure he never he had need for hair gel or hair spray and never had to use a hair dryer on it. Didn't have time for such pitter patter. Split ends... pa-lease. I vote his.

Wait, no one's going to say Gretzky? Hull?
