lol, I edited it as soon as I posted it. You people are too quick.
-
Does it involve the other team not scoring goals? Because, if that wasn't it, I don't know.
-
Z mishandles a puck which causes a loss of a scoring chance. He can't buy a goal right now.
-
Nice shift by Kopecky of all people there.
-
Woo, almost a big mistake by Conklin there. Two big breaks for the Wings so far.
-
Nice defensive play by Filppula there after Lebda got pinched in the offensive zone.
-
Modin hits the post. That was close.
-
Nice! Wings 3 (Zetterberg x2, Maltby) Jackets 1 (Nash)

It's was a really classy act if you ask me. Just another example of why the Red Wings organization is the class of the league and why players love playing here.
-
He's 18. It's not like he was going to be here next season anyway, you know? Lots of time to improve.

Wow, four posts and they all bash either Lidstrom or Zetterberg. Not a great way to endear yourself to the regulars around here. Yeah, let's throw away all team loyalty and keep a rental (a great one, yes, but still a rental) over a future captain and Conn Smythe winner. Right...

Babcock said in his postgame press conference that Conklin will indeed start the Winter Classic. Hard not to start a guy coming off a 38 save shutout against the team he's scheduled to play in the Classic. Not to mention, Ozzie probably isn't 100% yet and these are pretty big games.

You know, I hadn't really thought about this, but it's true. Franzen scored twice today playing on Pasha's wing (actually, was Pavel playing with Franzen on that PP? I can't remember), Cleary had a real nice hot streak when he was playing with Datsyuk, the same with Hossa. Hell, even Kopecky had two points when he was on Datsyuk's line. I don't think there's any question that he is a our most important player not named Nick Lidstrom. Though, I don't think Henrik Zetterberg was a good example. Him and Datsyuk were split up a lot last season as well and he did fine. Not to mention, Zetterberg was on a 50 goal pace to start the year before getting into this drought. Obviously, Datsyuk makes him better (and Zetterberg makes Datsyuk better), but it's not like Z is some scrub who can't do anything unless he is paired with him.

"THE GOAL COUNTS! THE GOAL COUNTS!" Awesome moment. And it couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

My memory's failing me, which came first: Filppula's re-signing or Hossa's signing? Either way, I would argue Hossa's contract is hindering our ability to call up players or go out and pick someone up at the trade deadline.

This site seems to have a lot of "what's wrong with _____" when a player doesn't score for a couple games. These guys aren't Gretzky or Lemieux, they slump from time to time. It's impossible to be consistent over the course of an 82 game season.
-
I disagree. This team doesn't have a whole lot of 24 year old defensively responsible forwards with lots of offensive skill and potential. We have to consider the future of this team as well and Filppula provides youth on a currently veteran-laden team.

- Game 7, 1996 Conference Semi-Finals against the Blues aka Yzerman breaks scoreless tie in 2nd OT - March 26th, 1997 - Game 3 2002 Stanley Cup against the Canes aka Larionov wins it in triple OT - Game 4 1997 Stanley Cup - Game 7 2002 Conference Finals against Avs - Game 4 1998 Stanley Cup - Game 5 2008 Stanley Cup (ugh.........only loss on this list, but great game) - Game 6 2008 Stanley Cup That's off the top of my head.

I don't think so. He isn't putting up great numbers this season, but he went from playing second line minutes and PP/PK time to playing third line minutes with little to no time on the PP after the signing of Hossa. He's a good two-way center with a lot of talent. It was a risk, but I suspect it will be viewed as a very good deal before too long.
-
LMAO!

More time for the Wings to rest up. It's not like the ASG is a big deal. It's a joke. Plus, the Wings that deserve to be there will be t here.
-
Franzen. I love Hossa, but Hossa is going to command a higher salary and is going to tie us down more than Franzen will. As YoungGuns pointed out, building a team around a handful of first liners with little to no depth is never a good idea.
-
Agreed 100%. Maybe Nick being hurt is kind of a blessing in disguise, because it thrusts Rafalski into the #1 defenseman role and forces him to step up and play smarter out there. Hopefully, he keeps it up.

Conklin = DOMINANT. Wow, what a game for him. I also love that his two shutouts came in our two percieved biggest games of the season. Great special teams tonight as well. Also, you gotta love Kopecky getting on the board! Great game.
