I guess we'll just have to settle for beating his team. Again and again and again.
-
Care to bet on that? It's almost impossible for all three of them to be back.
-
I am! Just found out today. What a terrific Christmas present. I also got the Celebration of Champions DVD and just finished up watching Fight Night at the Joe. What a sweeeeeeeeeet day.
-
To be fair, I thought Kopecky played very well last night.
-
Add me as one of the people who thinks that the Blackhawks being good again is good for the sport. I truly hope it will rekindle the long-standing rivalry between the Wings and Hawks. I want to hate them again.

Only at LGW.com will a simple debate about the validity of a game winning goal with absolutely no effect on the Red Wings spawn arguments regarding physics complete with different diagrams and pictures. What a great place.
-
When was the last time a Red Wings player got a Gordie Howe hat trick anyway? It had to be Shanahan, right? I can't think of any recently.
-
Unfortunately, it isn't that simple. I'm sure if it was possible, Hossa would love to play the remainder of his career here, but he's going to command a salary that will exceed what we can afford to pay him and keep guys like Zetterberg, Franzen, Hudler, etc. And he's earned that. It's going to be tough to see him go, but that's just the way it's going to be.

Define struggling. He made some good plays today and I thought played very well on the 5-on-3 shift. He's not necessarly scoring goals, but it's Henrik Zetterberg....they're coming, trust me.

Let's watch the rest of the season first. Wings PP!
-
Gotta love Stewie.

38 SOG. Not bad, guys, not bad.

Wings PP!

Good post. I agree. Also, Dats is playing out of his mind right now. I love it.
-
If he keeps it up. Nice avatar by the way!

lol. Outstanding forward play in the first period. Z, Pasha, and Franzen all played extremely well and Conklin stood on his head. Lidstrom's one-timer was a thing of beauty. He's getting hot right now, 5 points in the last two games.

Very few people have pointed to this as an excuse. Most people on this board won't hesitate to bash Osgood for his poor play this season. And I know that Ozzie himself hasn't used it as an excuse.

Wouldn't you be worried about the potential for burnout if they played with 100% intensity every game for the next four months? I'd like to see them play their asses off for games like the Winter Classic or important games along the schedule, but as long as they flip the switch sometime in mid-March, I'm just fine. Not to mention, I believe that all of these late comebacks and one-goal games could prove to be invaluable in the playoffs.
-
I'm going to look at the first four and a half months of the regular season the same way I always do with this team. Fun to watch, yeah, but not really all that important in the grand scheme of things. When all is said and done, the Wings will be a top-3 Western Conference seed more times than not and it's going to be all about getting ready for the playoffs, working out the kinks, and performing when the postseason begins. I'm not going to worry about the percieved "lack of effort" until, like someone else mentioned, about March when its time to start getting things in gear.

Wings 3 (Zetterberg x2, Kopecky) Blues 1 (Jackman)
-
It wasn't obvious, but it was very similar to the Beauchemin OT goal that everyone and his mother thought was a no-goal on this board when it happened.
-
Yeah, I was watching it. Clearly above the crossbar, but there's no way the NHL was going to take a goal, a game-winning one at that, away from Crosby.
-
Yeah, that's a real good team with a lot of talent. Patrick Kane is unreal.
