How do you pull it off though, assuming complete health? The first two lines pretty easy as you could do something like this: Datsyuk - Zetterberg - Holmstrom Franzen - Filppula - Hossa But, then you have to form two lines using these six players (Cleary, Draper, Hudler, Kopecky, Maltby, Samuelsson). I'm having trouble creating any lines where the styles of play mesh with the others. Cleary - Draper - Maltby was a good line for us in the playoffs, but I don't like the idea of Kopecky centering Hudler and Samuelsson. I'd REALLY like a Hudler - Helm - Samuelsson line though. I think that would be very interesting.

I love how people are all up in arms about the Habs fans stuffing the ballot boxes, but have no problem with the fact that the Wings fans are essentially doing the same thing. Fan balloting is a horrible, horrible idea, IMHO. I voted, but I voted for the players that I felt most deserved to start.

Howard is putting up similar numbers to Osgood in the AHL. I don't think he'd be an upgrade.

The 2000s look pretty weak especially compared to the 90s (Yzerman, Messier, Stevens, Lemieux, Bourque, Sakic). I think Lidstrom is a good captain and probably the best out of this group, though I do like Shane Doan a lot, but I don't view him as one of the great all-time captains.

I was very impressed with the Lidstrom-Rafalski pairing tonight. I thought both played superb hockey tonight.
