So market size and arena size have nothing to do with picking a place for a NHL team? Winnipeg has a drawing area of 1,250,000 people at the most within a 4-5 hour drive. When you compare that to any other potential location Winnipeg dosen't look so hot. Also remember that Winnipeg has had a NHL team that they didn't support until they found out that they were losing them. The NHL is not going to repeat what didn't work before, they have too many options. I hope your right and then I wouldn't have to drive to Minnesota(8hrs) or Alberta(12hrs) to watch the Wings. I will believe it when I see it.

I am from Manitoba. Winnipeg will never again have a NHL team. They could not support a team before and not much has changed. There simply is not enough people to support a team in Winnipeg and surrounding area and the Manitoba Government is not going to throw money in. I am not even sure if the new MTS Center is big enough anyways.

The fact that Babcock didn't skate their bags off today tells me that there is a big problem. This whole team including Babs don't give a flying f**K. The fans deserve a hell of a lot better then this crappy play. I am sorry but if they can't get motivated to play frickin hockey and make millions then maybe they should be on a different team. They let the heart and soul of this team (Yzerman) leave to be the GM of Tampa Bay. Kenny is a great GM but I bet things would be different if they were playing for Stevie!

The NHL.com stats are showing the Wings with a 2.92 gaa which is 19th spot. The question is what do you say is the cause? An aging defence core? goaltending? Defence pairings? What do you think the problem is and why? I think that it is overall team defence. There seems to be not enough players wanting to play at both ends of the ice. Costly turnovers on the breakout and even lack of heart some nights. Makes me wonder some nights if the Wings are a bit to comfortable and a small trade might shake things up a bit and give this team some hunger! The good news is this team is scoring goals (most nights)

It was at best a two minute penalty. If Bert is suspended it only goes to show how much of a joke this league is becoming. I hope that Kenny Holland gives the league a earfull one of these days for all the non call against Homer. He got hauled down on a breakaway and there was no call? Give me a break! There is at least 2 or three bad call is every game we play and Berts was one of them.

I have never understood why they don't review the play. The goal that was called off last night was one of the worst calls I have seen yet. These calls are important to the outcome of every game. Just another thing the NHL can't get right.

The thought that the Police are involved is not right. However, if Air Canada uses it's weight to force the league into doing a better job of protecting its players I think thats great. Somebody has too. For those on here that think the Canadians fans are over reacting, if Chara or any player did that to a Wings player we would be all looking for heads to roll as well. The bottom line is the NHL has done a s*** job of protecting its players from needless injuries. If Air Canada calls them out, well its about time.

Babcock is the head coach and he gets the final say. Is anyone throwing Babs under the bus? Playing with no heart is a team problem not a defense problem. Playing with no heart makes for a bad power play, defense,etc

Why does Babcock insist on playing Ericcson and Kronwall together? They suck together. They watched as the third goal went in and they watched as the fourth went in and yet they saw ice time together in ot WTF! I know Raffi is out but I would rather see Flip and Huds play together then these two ass clowns.

I was thinking of this as well. The problem I see with it is the back log of players we already have at forward. With Flip and Modano coming back at the end of the week who sits out? Miller will for sure but besides him who? I think that Ericsson may end up like Meech. A good player that just dosen't fit on this team.

Ericsson has the tools to be a good player. He is big strong and has a great shot. Pretty much everything he needs to be a good d-man in the NHL. However, he almost never uses his big body to clear the net or to make a big check. He takes too long to get his shot off and usually ends up getting blocked. I think that the Wings have given him lots of time to adjust to playing defence. Depending on what he can be signed for is the deciding factor for me. If he can be signed for cheap and be the #6 or 7 d-man fine if not bye bye big E

I agree to some degree but I am not willing to throw Jimmy under the bus just yet. I just don't understand the idea of going after a goalie that you have no chance of getting(Nabby) and ending up messing around with the confidence of your already struggling goaltender. People on here think Snow is a dick for grabbing him well I would bet there were another dozen teams in line for him before the Wings. I think that the Wings should go after a top 4 d-man to help take some of the load off of Lidstrom who seems to be playing his age as of late. I think he is looking tired and thats not how you want to go into playoffs.

Lets just Trade them Hudler and a 4th for Nabby and Tavares. Garth Snow just may be dumb enough to go for it.

I just want to see a complete team defensive effort in this one. I have been seeing to many players not finishing their checks lately. No more playing from behind all game. Wings 3 blues 1 and Jimmy dosen't have to stand on his head.

This game is a must win. With Calgary and Vancouver up next we need these two points bad. Calgary has been playing alot better and Vancouver will be a very tough win. A full 60 mins is needed. Lets Go Wings!

Just a way to push the City of Edmonton to step up that is all this will be about. The Oilers leaving Edmonton will never happen. However it would be great to see a team in Quebec City! Just not the Oilers.
