Wings in 5. They might steal one at home. The silent killer that is Nick Lidstrom SHOULD prove to be too much for Nashville's young, so-so offense. Nashville doesn't have a Chris Pronger to match up with us, a la 2006. In a seven game series, there is no excuse for not winning this one. Offense, Defense, Special Teams, goaltending (even with the Ellis hot streak), and overall skill are all stacked up in our favor. Just cross your fingers for everyone to stay healthy through this series, and I think we'll have a great series to watch as Wings fans.

You're better than Santa Clause! Drop me a line next time this happens, why dontcha.

WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO!!!! I bet that'll be the only one of those on this thread. Gotta respect the talent. Injuries can get the best of anybody. We should pray every night that Kronwall and Hank don't end up the same way, the way they play.
-
I don't blame him. He never wanted to leave in the first place. His heart is in Denver. I'm sure it wasn't so much because he was playing in Columbus, but that he WASN'T playing in Denver. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he got that money next year. Defensemen are often overpaid in the new cap system. However, Foote brings a game not shown on the scoreboard or fantasy pools, and he is valuable. A buying team looking for D will most likely make a move for him.

SWEET. Wish i knew about these all season.
-
We gotta score the first goal, and we can't let them get rolling on the powerplay. They usually own us with the man up and now Lidstrom's gone. That being said, Wings 5-2. Holmstrom(2)/Flip/Hank/Franzen
-
Rafalski left before the skating drills even started. Kronwall and Chelios stayed though. Maybe they'll be back tomorrow. (Crosses fingers)

Actually, Jesus Christ Incarnated, it's a matter of opinion. I HIGHLY DOUBT anyone on ths thread is saying he should be tossed because of last game ALONE. He turns the puck over TOO MUCH in my opinion, plain and simple. He needs to hit more, and he needs to wise up. It's the beauty of the internet. Everyone is allowed their own opinion!

I have a feeling our Wings are gonna earn that top 5 spot tomorrow. We're gonna continue our stellar play from the third period of last game into Friday's game. Nabokov, Thornton, Cheechoo, Campbell... PFFFFFFF STAY POSITIVE! Go Wings!

I like Meech over them 2 next year. I also want Meech in the playoffs, but I don't see the Wings riding 8 Dmen, and they'll keep Lilja/Lebda for the playoffs. As someone else said, they do play a little better when the pressure is off of them, but Meech will still be an upgrade soon enough.
-
I really don't think Lilja or Lebda will be waived. Lilja needs to bring his size to the postseason. I can see Meech on the 2nd PP unit in the playoffs though. He's the man. He plays with ten times more confidence than Lilly and he's only got a handful of games under his belt.
-
Lilja doesn't have the brains to be a GOOD defenseman. He tries to play like someone he is not. I think he watches Lidstrom too much. He needs to realize what assets he DOES have. The only one that comes to mind is his size. If he can find who he really is as a hockey player, use his size and scrap and hit TEN times more, than he can be useful as a third line d-man for the playoffs. If he does NOT man up and play like he's built to play, then I agree with the majority. Give him the boot.
-
What a heartbreaker. We deserved the W, in my opinion. I knew what would happen if we went to a shootout, though. Quite an entertaining third period, but to no avail. One point seems like soooo much less than 2 points and the W to me after watching that game.
-
Which is more boring to watch tonite? Our powerplay or our 5-on-5 play?
-
Healthy scratch. Hardigan was called up.
-
I thought Datsyuk had him in the top corner, there. DAMN. Time for another powerplay. Hopefully not so dull.
-
Forsberg's been my favorite player since '94. It's a shame to me that he was never a Red Wing. I'll always root for the Wings, but I'll always watch Forsberg every time he plays.
-
No problem, and thanks for the compliment. Same to you Edit: And thanks for the welcoming! I can't believe I didn't find this site years ago. How ignorant I was....
-
Not this period. Hopefully this powerplay will spark us up.
-
Not gonna happen. GET OVER IT.
-
Thanks for the irrelevent post. I told someone to relax. Get over it. Take a pill or something.
-
True. I can understand the lack of powerplay scoring. But we need to get some even-strength goals. Hudler or Flip or SOMEONE other than DZ needs to net a couple and wake up so Cleary actually has someone to play with when he comes back
-
RELAX. They are AHL players. Good ones at that. And that goal was Lebda's fault, not one of our subs. I swear you people are such drama-queens. So quick to hit the panic button.
