he signed a long-term deal in Vancouver and I am quite certain they have OB/GYNS. I am sure they have a good life in Florida and they want the child to be a US citizen, FINE, but he shouldn't be leaving the team at a critical juncture. I am not sure if the Ducks wil make sitting out a norm until the rules are changed, but I can't see many players volunterring to lose millions of dollars in income to help the club. I can't see this deal coming to pass. IF it was being considered no way the Sabres take Ozzie and not demand Howard. howard had a break out year, sort of, he was named an AHL all-star, came into camp in great condition, and has let in fewer softer goals. That said, he has slipped, again, at season's end, when the Grifs were trying to make it into the playoffs. The Grifs should have been good on D and in net, but their GAA is poor. For Miller the Wings would need to part with young talent, Howard being one piece and I can see Filp bring the other. I can't see that happening next season, so the Wigs would likely wait it out and see if he hits theUFA market 6-1-10. Next season is Ozzie and Howard.

I agree with this post. No way stuart takes less than 3.5 (length of term will be an issue). I believe Lilja not taking the deal offered has put him on the outs (along wit some spotty play). Lebda is a 6-7 d'man, no more. He isn't a good passer so he rushes thepuck again and again. I don't like his style on this team one bit. i do think Lilja is a capable #6. If he would take a 1M deal, and Stuart the 3.5, I have no issue letting Meech and Lebda go and bringing up Q for the #7 spot. Great size on the blueline, coupled with great skill for each pairing. Lilja - He is a solid #5 in this league who can kill, is durable and adds grit. Asking him to play the #4 spot is what exposes his weaknesses.

You sure spek with authority that Nick will retire in 2 years. Where did you get that information? AO - The trade is, to me, ridiculous. The Caps need a gate draw and AO is it. Hank and Nick don't bring the same flair to the game. I am glad to see cleary coming back early. He will need time to build up his strength, cardio and physique (I read he lost 15 pounds with his mouth wired shut). he will also need to find his game wearing a football QB type cage. I hope this doesn't effect his post season play. I really believe his comeback is key to winning the Cup. Yes, alnog with staying healthy. As for Filp, ANY injury now will be given more time to heal, and some injuries will be fabricated to give the player time to rest. Expect Hank, Pavel, Ralfy, Kronner, Kopecky (who I predict will be the positive surprise of the post season)etc to all sit a few games. The Wings are a lock for the #1 seed, their reward is to rest before the post season. They will work on their PP and Kill (which hasn't been as good as in past years) to find lines, get some healthy and for some others to find their game Hudler.
