...and then they come crawling back to us D:

Hi-def CBC/TSN broadcasts are delicious Now they just need to stop constantly broadcasting the east-coast Canadian teams getting their asses handed to them by the team of the week
-
Our team had the best offense of the entire league and only allowed two goals in each of games 6-7. Detroit's loss can't be blamed on defense, there's simply no excuse for only being able to score a single goal in each of those games.

Which Team Has a Better Chance of Making it Back to the Finals?

GMR complaining about grit?! *head asplode* -
I don't think it's a matter of having to be entertaining, just... not lazy in its design. It's like those Dallas jerseys that scream 'Oh crap, we're supposed to unveil the new designs TODAY?'

Oh please, you make xenophobic remarks about Euros every other post. You can't even keep a coherent story for your own unjustified bulls***.

I don't even have Hudler love, there's just no objective evidence to suggest that he's worse than Bertuzzi. The only thing in favour of Bert is that he's big, but he does jack s*** with his size so what's the point? Oh and for the record: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/stupidly DERP, HOW DOES I ADVERB? Seriously, just f*** off and take up wrestling or MMA or something else that caters to your juvenile mind.

Way to take information and take it to stupidly hyperbolic directions. Hudler is less injury prone than Bertuzzi and scores more. OH s*** I GUESS THAT MEANS HE'S AS GOOD AS GRETZKY THEN DURRRR. Come on, Konstantinov strapped onto a wheelchair with skates on it would be an improvement over Bertuzzi constantly not fighting for pucks, having zero defensive sense, taking endless amounts of stupid penalties, and promptly reinjuring himself. It's not a matter of Hudler being god on ice, it's a matter of Bertuzzi being so ineffective that Hudler seems like a legitimate improvement.

hahahahaha. This isn't six years ago, kiddo.

Overall not bad, but I wish the design inside the leaf was fully native. With the moose and the beavers and hockey sticks and all that crap blended in with it it makes it look really hokey and...fake, it's like one of those fake Canada hockey jerseys you can find at souvenier shops on Gastown. Thankfully it's pretty subtle so you can't see it well unless you're up close. I'm gonna pass on these. Although it's considered bad luck I like my '02 black 3rd with the old-style maple leaf a lot better. Should have gone with the 72 throwback jersey from the WJC, it's a no-brainer. Ah well.

Hudler didn't have a back made out of glass, though. Fat good being huge does when you're constantly on the brink of being out 30 games, one miscalculated hit or fight and he's gone.

And how much success have the Wings had with the likes of Williams and Bertuzzi on the roster? At least there's the argument that Bertuzzi was injured in 07 and so he never really got a proper shot with the Wings, but we got rid of Williams for a reason - he sucked. Pulling him back into the roster is counterproductive, I would have rather introduced some new blood into the system instead of bringing back an on-ice cancer. That signing was seriously the one time to my recollection I've flat-out opposed a move by Holland, and I can't stand Bertuzzi.

Leino, Ericsson, and Helm will all be playing full seasons next year, though. It would be logical to assume that they will score more goals than they have in their previous short-term callups.
-
Funny thing is, I've heard complaints that the Canada jerseys are just maple leafs slapped onto Coyotes kit.
-
After seeing Prospal go for about a million even, I'm pretty disappointed. To say nothing of Williams signing for 1.5.
-
All the more reason we shouldn't have picked him up. The last two seasons are objective proof that the Wings can be immensely successful without the need of fighters and enforcers, why not spend the money used on Bert for someone who can actually stay healthy and demonstrates some defensive sense? Or use that money for a potential goalie pickup should Howard prove to be a bomb.
-
So, Abby is going to play the gaps of three missing players?
-
The only person nowadays who would get paralyzed in a fight with Bertuzzi is Bertuzzi.
-
Ah ha, ah hahahahahaha. Bert has no defensive sense and the back of an 80-year-old woman, if we're going to consider him an enforcer we should have just not bothered and gotten Prospal for the same amount. At least when he gets injured for 20-30 games Abdelkader will get in a good chunk of play.
-
Bertuzzi was seriously the best we could do for a gritty player? Come on.
-
This. With him more or less guaranteed to miss 1/3-1/2 of the season because of his back, if we end up signing him we better be paying him accordingly.
-
I really don't like Bert for a number of reasons, but at least he's a better (potential) acquisition than Jason 'Useless' Williams. Although if we really want to go after tough guys whose careers have gone down the s***ter due to criminal acts, why can't we get Mark Bell instead? He'd be a heck of a lot cheaper and would likely be more versatile.

In my book, anyone with a name like 'Vigilante' is welcome.

You were starting s*** a whopping one post into the thread. YOU'RE the guilty one here kid.
