So you have absolutely no concept whatsoever of figurative language. Okay. -

Durp, you're doing a GREAT job proving that it's 'just so wrong on every level'. You're part of the problem. -

Canada really seemed to get their legs going as the period went on, now they just need to start looking for ugly goals. Too many attempts at fancy passing that results in takeaways -

I'm really thinking Brodeur isn't our number 1 guy. Not that Luongo has been particularly tested but Marty just dosen't seem to be getting it done. -

Figure skating is the most popular event of the Games on TV, IIRC. -

I just find it amusing to no end how every American on this site demands Canadian blood as though they've completely forgotten who the architect for the entire team is. Crosby annoys me too but I'm not going to hold one person against an entire team - if I did I'd have ditched the Wings when Bertuzzi resigned. -

NM, it's been clarified already -
This, I'm sure the US/Sweden/Finland all have similar numbers

Ovechkin and a few others have already stated they're going to Olympics no matter what the NHL says.

Germany actually put up some really solid hockey, a few posts separated them from it becoming a 2-2 game.

With facecages, that would be brutal lol

I have to be honest, there were moments where even Latvia was making Russia's defense look quite weak, and for all the boasting of their stacked offense Russia's PP was terrible in this game for all their chances. Could really end up haunting them when they start playing better teams - wouldn't be the first time a Russian team that's looked unstoppable on paper came up short in the Olympics.
-
Given that the Penguins went over last season they wouldn't be on the shortlist for playing in Europe anyway...

Canadians just understand that Cherry, while a senile moron, in on-air for a whopping five minutes a week and thus can be easily ignored.

That intro was better value for money, more coherent, and less chiched than any given moment of Avatar. I'm not even joking

I really hate these overcomplicated airbrushed masks that are loaded with personal references. For all the issues of the Oilers, the goalie masks they wear with the retro jerseys are perfect. Keep it bold, simple, and linked to the team.

In these trying times, we must remember to always remain thankful. The hockey gods giveth, and the hockey gods taketh away; it is only with faith that we may attain hockey salvation. With that in mind, I ask you all to take out your NHL bibles from the pew in front of you and turn to page 28, and recite with me the Detroit Red Wings hockey gods prayer: Our Flames, who art in Northwest, Choking be thy game; thy season come; thy will be done, in regulation as it is in overtime. Give us each day your nightly losses. And forgive us our own two-goal chokes, as we forgive those teams that turn our goalies into sieves. And lead us not into a higher playoff seed; but save us from oblivion by thy own team's suckage. *slapshot motion* Amen. Go in peace.

Special guests who sing the pre-game national anthems would be required to be the least talented members of their respective bands.

It seemed rather quiet from what I was hearing of the broadcast. I wish for something like the flurry of booing like after Calgary's last game - god knows this team deserves it.
