Waaaait a second. If Ozzie is likely out for three weeks or so, then Conk-block is likely to start the Winter Classic. AGAIN 0_0

Is it really a time for changing goalies and 4th liners?

My only issue is that the shootout is a lame way to win/lose a game. Keep the 4-on-4 overtime but extend it to 10 minutes or even a full period length. Five minutes is just too short to get any momentum really going. The shootout remains as a final tiebreaker, but with an overtime of an actually substantial length it wouldn't need to be relied upon nearly as much to conclude a game's outcome.

We only beat Phoenix 5-4, and that wasn't even in regulation :/

OH CHRIST IF WE DON'T WIN BY AT LEAST FIVE GOALS THE WINGS WILL HAVE FAILED AS A FRANCHISE. 4-2 Wings. Even with his team as terrible as it is this season Turco can still get the Stars wins every now and again. Bryz is no Turco.

LGW: 82-0-0 or bust!

I'd take him over Bertuzzi... :|

Personally my votes are going towards having Avery and Phaneuf on the starting line... :X

You have the advantage of being in the South, an area where people generally don't give a s*** about hockey in general, let alone be subject to the near-endless bombardment of those 'select few' in every form of media imaginable. Come up north for a few years, it'll cause a few mental short circuits in you.

I'm just wondering why people are voting for Gonchar and Whitney when NEITHER of them are eligible for the ASG.

defensive pairings have been shuffled
-
Would have liked to have seen those new defensive pairings being experimented with, but oh well...
-
If by 'eggs' you mean 'forwards with recent Selke-worthy performance', than yeah o_o There's no offense-generating reason to urgently put them back together, the team's offensive output has been great so far. So if it's mainly being done as a defensive-play measure, sure, having them together on-ice for 20 minutes a night is great, but what about the other 40 minutes when neither of them are? Again, I think right now a shakeup of defensive pairings would be a lot more beneficial than a knee-jerk return to the ZDH line. Don't get me wrong, I know they work great together, I just don't see any real justification for going back to it given that Hossa has been playing like an absolute beast in his line so far and our trouble lies primarily on the back end.
-
Aren't you essentially putting all your eggs in one basket by putting them together for that reason, though? Besides, Hossa's no snub to defensive play either.
-
I don't really get why everybody's frothing at the mouth for a return to the ZDH line. It's a great line but the offensive output this season would suggest that an offensive shakeup is NOT what the team desperately needs. The mixing up of defensive pairings would have been a better step in the right direction, which is why it seems odd Babcock is only doing it for practices.

I think I remember seeing Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Hossa-Holmstrom-Lidstrom-Rafalski as a desperation line, does that count? Now THAT'S a frightening line, thinking about it...
-
Hossa, primarily so I can personally see the look on Crosby's face the moment I announce I'm ditching the Penguins for the Wings.
-
Funny thing is, the UK *does* have a pro hockey league.
-
Rafalski's got a few years left on his contract and a NTC, don't think that's gonna be happening.
-
uh...Numerous...

Though the raw score dosen't seem to suggest it, I guess you didn't watch the Ducks game the other week either. Numberous posts were the only reason it was a one-goal game.

My parents said it was like that all the time when they lived in Edmonton during the dynasty years. They'd find Craig McTavish in line at the bank or Gretzky at the supermarket, stuff like that. Similar situation here in Vancouver, loads of movies and tv shows get filmed here, it's strange how often I'll watch something and there'll be a scene set somewhere downtown - even the classroom I had my LSAT prep course in was in XMen 2. Haven't met any celebs really, though I've been an extra in a few things they've filmed on campus.
