He can't live in Windsor?
-
What the hell is going on with this franchise?
-
OVERPAID TO THE MAX. Even with the amount dropping off in future seasons it's too much for Malone.
-
If I was a physics major or something I'd *SO* get a KELLY - *PI SYMBOL* jersey upon graduation.
-
Wow. Next season's Pens are looking more and more like 3 star players with 20-odd AHLers filling the gaps. Enjoy being the Calgary Flames of the East, guys!

I'd say go for it, you'll stand out from all the Yzerman/Lidstrom/Zetterberg/Datsyuk jerseys. You can get numbers changed anyway, can't you? If worse comes to worse take it back to Jersey City or wherever and ask them to swap the numbers. In semi-related news, MY JERSEY HAS ZETTERBERG'S NUMBERS NOW! It's beautiful ;_;

At least our team colours are fairly conservative. There's no way in hell you could make a Ducks, Sharks, or Predators set of shoes look good.

-The lack of a comma made the title seem somewhat misleading; at first I thought Hossa had rejected trying free-agency, lol -How about we actually bother seeing how Franzen does next season before we start speculating that he's going to get a big contract in 2009? He had a surge at the tail end of the season, but the 60-odd games before that he wasn't achieving anything close to that kind of scoring performance. Not to mention that the majority of the goals he scored in the playoffs were against an embarrassingly bad and injury-plagued Colorado team. Nothing says he *won't* keep it up, but let's see if his offensive output was a flash-in-the-pan or not before we start envisioning huge extension contracts to both zetterberg AND him.

lol, so Crosby's number matches his yearly salary?
-
YYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS, do it, Hossa!
-
f***. Time to bust some kneecaps.

*drumroll* ...who?

I can't exactly call this gripping, heart-stopping television... honestly I'm probably gonna switch over to Stargate at the top of the hour.
-
Honestly, if current trends are any indication, we should be more interested in the Wings' late-round picks.
-
Sundin hasn't even confirmed that he isn't retiring, let alone what team he wants to play for.
-
Nobody we'll see in a Wings uniform for a half-decade or so. Assuming we don't trade.
-
Honestly, if the Coyotes had started the season with Bryz between the pipes, I wouldn't have been surprised if they sneaked into an 8th playoff seed.
-
Likewise, probably because the Wings don't make big splashes in the draft. None of the guys they pick are going to be potentially NHL material for five-odd years anyway.
-
Players you would trade the Wings 1st round pick for.

You love them so much you ate the a in Panini? -
Uh, Montreal was a genuine Cup contender. Price just needs a little more time to get himself comfortably in the #1 goalie role. I was praying that the Habs would steal Hossa from Pittsburgh though. I'd rather see the Panthers win a Cup than the Penguins.

I haven't heard anything about the format itself, but I have heard proposals that the winning conference of the All-Star Game should get the home-ice advantage in the Finals. I'm a little iffy on the idea, but on the other hand it means I might possibly actually care about the ASG if they did that.

By that logic, future drafts will push for sumo wrestlers and siamese twins for goalie talent. Smaller goalies in their entirety will be completely phased out - why bother with them when you can get someone who covers 98% of the net just by sitting there? People bring up this goalie equipment tweaking as if it'll miraculously solve the scoring 'issue'. IMO all it'll do is result inmore larger goalies who cover more of the net, and then you're back to the exact same problem only now it's raw size instead of the equipment. This whole issue is little more than the league's way of 'easing into' the adoption of larger nets, at which point the sport will become nothing more than basketball on ice and ergo completely unwatchable.

And we ALL know how that worked out for him.
